They say they need money to get people to vote, but i prefer a broke candidate over a corrupt one to be honest

They outspent trump and lost last year. They need better candidates who can say with credibility that they are interested in helping Americans.

Not spending a billion dollar on a losing campaign was a significant advantage for Republicans, to be fair.
