My parents in their 30s This would make a lovely second home for our family to winter in. Hopefully the garage can fit both our cars, snowmobile and ski equipment.

Me in my 30s I'll never financially recover from this purchase.

Don't blame older people, blame capitalism. Americans have voted increasingly rightward, and are more supportive of enriching the billionaires in the mistaken belief that they'll create jobs and pay us more.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 27 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Keep in mind, this is not the fault of the parents' generation. It's the fault of the rich who take more and more profit out of the working people.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 18 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

It's the fault of the parents' generation for electing Reagan and letting them do it.

Just throwing it out there that only a tiny fraction of GenXers were old enough vote in the 1980 or even the 1984 elections. I am in my 30s and only one of my parents was old enough (and definitely did not vote for Reagan, I have seen their Mondale button), the other first voted for President in 1988.

GenXers in their 30's were not buying secondary ski houses, we were getting buttfucked by recession

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Then who exactly is this meme about?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 3 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Guessing boomers and millennials. I know plenty of millenials with boomer parents. And a lot of miilenials are still in their 30's (and fucked)

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Did… Did you not read my original comment?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

I think you're inferring a tone that is not there. Demmed textual interface

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 1 points 24 minutes ago

No tone, just wondering why you reiterated the part about millennials in their 30s back to me.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

I'm a Millennial, but my parents are Boomers. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 2 points 3 hours ago

Electing... meh. But not killing and eating him and his friends when he showed his true face? I'll never forget!

[–] northertech@fedia.io 7 points 6 hours ago

If you went back before 2016 when politics were less culty and asked boomer what they thought about Preidents. They all would have said Reagan was the best. He is Neo-Lib Jesus, bringing the teachings of trickle down economics to the world. They had decades to move away from Neo-Liberalism.

This morning I went to the grocery store and only bought two items: milk and bread!

I've been unemployed for a year as of today.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 9 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Holy shit, this guy can afford dairy?

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago

2 items?

I shop exclusively in the 1 item or less lane.

Created by bots, posted by bots and reposted by bots.

It’s bots all the way down here.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world -2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Reddit loss prevention department is on the case ;)

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 1 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Funny how you don’t change your language for your alts.

[–] REDACTED@infosec.pub 6 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

Imagine banning people because they use other websites too

Imagine dragon.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

Oh no, no. That’s not what’s happening.

Those moderators are banning people who complain about Reddit reposts.

Why? Because some of those complaints are part of a deliberate harassment tactic. These people repeatedly target frequent posters and pester moderators, hoping to frustrate the mods enough that they eventually ban the very people keeping their communities active.

It’s a coordinated effort to undermine these communities from within, so I’m glad the moderators are finally taking action against those bad-faith complainants.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

It’s your alt banning people.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (2 children)

I think whomever it is -they probably tried to just post normally and got banned many times through those reddit tactics and harrassed into creating own communities.

and now they know this reddit game and wont fall for bs

[–] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 2 points 15 minutes ago

lol “whomever it is -they probably…” It’s you.

  • “Just posting normally”
  • “Harassed/harassment”
  • “Reddit tactics/game”
  • “Create my own community”

These are all key phrases in your comment which “whomever it is” deploys verbatim AND ad nauseum. Gonna need to do better than that if you’re to fool us all.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 0 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

I dont know them. can only imagine reddit shilling is bothering a lot of good people

[–] Septimaeus@infosec.pub 2 points 44 minutes ago

It’s damning that you always accuse your critics of being “Reddit agents” contrary to all evidence except that they criticized your undisclosed automated reposting, banning them from communities your alts moderate, deleting their comments, and reporting them for harassment.

Now that you’re using AI to write your comments, you might think no one can trace you across all your botting alts because your characteristic language errors are papered over, but you’re wrong.

In reality, most of your alts are already linked either by your direct admittance (mostly childish threats and impulsive chest-beating) or by accidental persona-hopping in various argument threads.

But even if you hadn’t already repeatedly exposed yourself, and even though you never disclose or mark any of your botting alts, and even if Lemmy weren’t a small town compared to Reddit where this type of abusiveness paid off…

Anyone who looks twice can tell it’s you, so give it a rest. I’m barely paying attention, and these are your alts that I’m aware of so far:@oldmanalex@sh.itjust.works
@NoraLenderbee@lemmy.today
@sanitation@lemmy.today
@Mustachius_Grumpius@thelemmy.club
@Grumpus_Maximus@thelemmy.club
@time2lose@lemmy.world

…et al. Others’ lists, including @SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world’s, are more complete than mine. So quit all this bad faith bullshit.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.social 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

The funny thing is that people do like your ai powered bot swarm taking popular content from Reddit and moving it to lemmy and if you created communities on instances that people who want organic content can block you’d be popular.

That you don’t just shows you’re trolling.

[–] time2lose@lemmy.world 0 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago) (1 children)

Oh, I know this game. I'm very familiar with these tactics.

  1. First, pressure community moderators into banning frequent posters.
  2. If that fails, push for an instance-level ban.
  3. If that doesn't work, complain to the receiving instances and try to get them to ban those accounts.
  4. And when people move to a separate instance, suddenly the demand becomes defederation.

The goalposts just keep moving. It's never really about finding a solution. It's about getting rid of people who post content.

Who benefits - oh ya definitely reddit.

I've seen these tactics before, and I'm not falling for them.

It’s to make it easy for people to view organic lemmy content instead of the shit you spread.

And the people that enjoy mindlessly upvoting reposted reddit content can do it too.

Everyone wins.

Spoiled people nowadays demanding to eat food.

[–] Proprietary_Blend@lemmy.world -1 points 4 hours ago

I also blame your parents for how you turned out to be such a whiny loser.
