Facebook was sucessfully sued by the Rohindya people for genocide mongering, and Kenyans are following suit currently. If people know their history, then they should be very aware of the impact a certain radio station had in the Rwandan genocide. Same playback. Abandon Meta. And not enough people have done a deep-dive into Larry Summers, who had a heavy hand in at Harvard, in getting FB ownership into Zucks hands.

Larry Summers was an Epstein handler.

The story of Zuck's origins is very hard to believe when stripped of its mythos. Venture capitalist with CIA ties swoop down to buy a college kid's website that simply posted women's faces so you could rate whether you'd fuck them or not. Face. Book.

It was obviously a top down astroturfed version of Myspace with a bolt-on dweeb to replace "Tom". Voila.

Zuck is the most incidental oligarch in history.

Do we need any more reasons to stop using america tech? it all has a kill switch if you dont do what they want you to do

They're making it so obvious you're either pro-Lula or pro-billionaire

I really hope if Lula wins they manage to ban Meta, Twitter, and any other platform that has engaged in naked election interference.

They will be happy with any conclusion that falls short of noticing Flavio is pro-organized-crime.

I wish we did like China did years ago and just had all north american's propaganda machine banned for good, but now it's too late, Trump and his enablers will fuck over my country with another cursed fascist administration. Hell, even if Lula wins on his fourth term would be even lamer duck, since both houses of congress are in the hands of the extreme-frothing-in-the-mouth-far-right

I'm an American and I support democracy. However, my own government only exploits liberal democracies if ever given the chance. Any country worth exploiting must be on a constant defensive war footing just to stay sovereign.

Meta is the right arm of the Trump administration.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 4 points 8 hours ago

Correction: Meta is the bitch of the administration.

Lula is not popular though, and shouldn't have been the forerunner. I don't fucking get why we can't get new candidates to stand up to these old sell outs. Lula is better, but that's not enough and we should all know it by now.

[–] LocalAreaMan@lemmy.ml 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Can you be more specific as to why he's a sellout?

Who is more popular?

I'm not Brazilian but I have followed the broader Brazilian news.

Lula is unquestionably way better than Bolsonaro, but the main issue with him is that he's still part of the party embroiled in a corruption scandal of a state-owned oil company, which turned Brazil upside down in mid-2010s. Lula may not have personally benefited and he was exonerated from corruption charges, but the fact that he is still running with a corrupt party leaves question marks as to why he's still rubbing shoulders with convicted politicians.

Don't get me wrong, Lula still has goodwill from the people. He is responsible for the uplifting of millions of Brazilians from poverty during his first stint as president in 2000s, but his association with a corrupt party left an ink on him. He's also old and he has not succeeded in steering the country against inflation, which to be fair, is what a lot of countries are struggling with not just Brazil.

Greater than 1080? Just say the number

Edit: I used a greater than symbol and it was used as formatting

[–] LocalAreaMan@lemmy.ml 12 points 23 hours ago

They found at least 1,080, presuming there's more.

I don't see this as confusing, especially if you actually read the article.

EDIT: It's \> in Markdown if used at the beginning of a line, otherwise it gets treated as a quote tag. I couldn't remember for sure what it was so I figured I'd post it here after I tested it.
