Thanks for the post, I’ll let my diabetic family members know. I know this isn’t on my sisters radar yet.

Not that the problem isn't a problem, because it is, but: I use the Dexcom G7 (as a type II) and for anyone concerned about this, you can get a receiver - a little device that will show the readings. It's more convenient on the phone (although the phone app FUCKING SUCKS DONKEY BALLS.........), but you don't have to use the phone. With my insurance, it was $50, so that'll vary, but it's an option.

As soon as a terms and conditions show up that isn't about open source licensing, you know the provider is an abusive fuck that will happily kill you if it would make them money

I'm so glad I don't need one anymore. This is horrible.

People (justifiably) blame insurance companies for the bullshit of the medical industry, but the entirety of the of it from provider facilities, to pharmacy, etc. is happy to enable it to nickel and dime for as much money as possible.

The price hikes of Medical services in the US functionally happen in a way similar to the cost of college education: Loaners and universities both benefit from rising cost of tuition, and enable each other to increase. Replace Loaners with Insurance, and universities with providers. The common denominator here is: For fucking profit.
