THE Suicide squad. It was so good that Tim Gunn earned the right to be boss of the DCU, and has proved it again and again.

Constantine Matrix ... I do love Keanu, but I don't care for his latest movies much.

It’s my favorite movie of all time and I watch it every October.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 4 points 6 hours ago

Aliens

Too bad they didn't make any more of them.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 3 points 7 hours ago

Romulus is better than it has any right to be. The Alien 3 “Assembly Cut” is also decent. Not good, but not awful.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 1 points 6 hours ago

White Chicks

Mean Girls

The Devil Wears Prada

I like to shut my brain off and have simple entertainment that doesn’t require much thinking during watching watch time.

My favourite movie of all time is Enemy 2013 and Black Swan but these are movies that go under your skin and everytime I watch them I have to go into spirals of overthinking etc while the above mentioned movies don’t give me that.

Hackers. Yes, it's corny - cheesy, even - but it had a great cast with awesome chemistry, and it did a great job at capturing the zeitgeist of hacker/punk culture. Plus so many memorable quotes...

[–] SynAcker@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 4 hours ago

You are forgetting the soundtrack! Its still amazing and slaps!

CLI + VR and specially GPUs to be able to hack in those UI... For a moment while watching Superman (2025) I had those flashbacks (Luthor's employees in fight scenes).

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 hours ago

Shit I haven't seen the new Superman, is it any good?

I'm also giggling at the thought of spending that kind of money on a VR headset just to use for a console lol

When I'm sad or depressed, I rewatch Inside out (1 or 2) and it puts me in a content and indifferent headspace.

[–] Doubleohdonut@lemmy.ca 64 points 20 hours ago (8 children)

The Big Lebowski. Simultaneously ridiculous and incredibly sophisticated. People who think its "just" a stoner comedy may have some more viewings to go 🙂

Idiocracy

There’s something about that close-to-home dystopian outlook that calms me. Now go away, I’m batin’!

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 5 points 10 hours ago

I like money.

[–] pdxfed@lemmy.world 18 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Liar, liar.

Nearly every single line in that movie that Jim Carrey delivers is not only funny but his delivery and antics are a work of art. It's like watching Messi dribble the soccer ball. Cary ewles gets an honorary mention for playing the straightman and absolutely killing it.
