As employees of Meta, we are disturbed by the revelations of the past few days and weeks regarding our management.

Since 2016, the political leanings of Meta executives and company leaders has been no secret.

But this is the first time to our knowledge that favours made to politicians such as the Bolsonaros have been programmatically made user-facing to such an obvious and biased extent.

Death Star workers shocked as another planet gets blow up

"When we joined the Death Star project we never imagined that a moon sized station with an energy cannon the size of several star destroyers would be used to blow up planets"

That's getting harder and harder to do. I'm lucky, I work for a Native American tribe. But most people don't have that option.

Yes, but... How far would you go? When is evil evil enough not to live off of that?

I'm sure some ancient Greek have discussed this.

You're right, I have the luxury of doing otherwise, not everyone does.

There have been at least two books written by previous FaceBook employees that describe FaceBook influence in elections. Perhaps these employees should read more.

I’m reading Careless People and it’s a scary window into How The World Works. It’s unbelievable how toxic, self-important and greedy facebook’s leadership is.

And I just can’t wrap my head around their easy access to governmental leaders. Like “Oops, forgot my passport, can’t we just call the president to let me in?”

I would not want to work there because I do not want to contribute to making the world a shithole

[–] dudeface@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I had a friend that worked there and he suggested he could refer me

I told him to fuck off and said he should get a better job

[–] Jimbel@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

That is the way

When I joined "Manipulating old people into fascism", I thought I was working to uphold privacy and democracy. But this is the LAST STRAW

[–] vane@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

I do hope Brazil blocks Meta from now on. Just like I hope we jail some bus companies executives.

At some point, it's enough.

[–] durably465@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 days ago

The same for, I hope they block x, meta etc...

[–] Taldan@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

I hope they find them like New Mexico did

[–] midi@reddthat.com 12 points 1 week ago

If Lula wins, you can leave Meta and help us build something better here in Brazil. Anything suspicious, inside knowledge etc, can be denouce here.
