This one also has The Wicther sword, which looks pretty cool. You have to speak to Ariadne to get it.

I was pretty excited to try it until it greeted me with unplayable performance. I never had FPS problems before the update. Now it's unplayable. I guess I'll either wait for it to be fixed or just stop playing.

EDIT:
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
AMD Radeon 7800XT
16GB RAM
Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX V2
Linux Mint 22.3

Were you using FSR3? Looks like they dropped support for it, it defaulted back to native res for me

[–] ms_lane@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

FSR4 isn't there either on my 9070XT.

Seems they've fully removed support for FSR upscaling.

Edit: It's a bug and intermittant, but they actually did remove FSR3 (2 and 4 remain, when not bugged out)

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

No, and I tried every option with or without FSR.

I'm relieved, to see that I'm not the only one. I play it on a quite impressive PC and I suddenly have stutters and longer loading times I haven't had before. Especially in Dog town.

Honestly, as I was reading the rest of the comments I started feeling I did something wrong. Are you also playing from Linux? If so, may I ask what Proton version you're using?

[–] RabbitMix@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Really? I'm getting better performance than before and it seems like crowd density has been increased too

Something is telling me this will be either a Linux or an AMD thing. Perhaps Proton.

UPDATE: It's most likely not Proton. At least two different versions (Hotfix and the latest version number) yield the exact same gouty performance.

[–] RabbitMix@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm playing on Nobara Linux

Great! So this is either an AMD thing... Or a different Linux thing : ).

I had about a 10fps drop since the update. I just tweaked the settings a bit and got it back but I also haven’t been to DogTown yet which was pretty bad before 2.5 anyway

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I had made compromises already and it's still ugly choppy. I don't know what this is, but I refuse to believe that my rig suddenly got SO outdated overnight. It used to be smooth.

[–] DrCake@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I saw people complaining about similar with some AMD cards. Might be that, if so I think you’ll have to wait for a driver update

[–] Hiro8811@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I only had one stutter problem, what hardware you run?

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
AMD Radeon 7800XT
16GB RAM
Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite AX V2
Linux Mint 22.3

Even the main screen cursor has a small delay now. It loads for noticeably longer. Previously it just played the whole "hello Ziggy, thanks for having me" scene normally - now there is a big pause between some sentences.

[–] Hiro8811@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The hardware dosen't seem to be the problem, try using latest protonGE instead of steam version

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I just tried the latest version of Proton (11.0-2). It's exactly as choppy as before (Proton Hotfix).

[–] Hiro8811@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Usually it's good but try https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom as well, it has solved a lot of problems for me in the past

[–] CheeseNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Got lucky on my AMD/Linux PC, performance is unaffected and the update is great. The console mod support did completely break even manual modding for me though so I'm limited to console mods via the in-game browser for now.

Looks like the update has broken performance for quite a few players, especially on AMD setups or Linux/Proton rigs. The main menu stuttering and long loading times definitely point to an optimization bug rather than hardware getting outdated. Hopefully, CDPR rolls out a hotfix soon because Dogtown was already heavy enough before this patch.
