The resolution of the left/liberal conflict. Anarchists and Marxist-Leninists have mostly ironed out our differences to the point of at least being cordial, but liberals and the left still butt heads. Considering Lemmy is never going to not have the left, it will require either the liberals leaving, defederating, or converting to the left. I know you said no politics, but that's really the basis of ending the toxicity that does exist here.
I was hoping for more levity. Like pictures of kitties inside of smol objects π€·ββοΈ
Maybe someday.
Boot the troublemakers out and mean it.
Everything is politics, especially the "absence" of politics. Would love to have a bit less of (USian) partisan politics though.
I agree, but unfortunately hard to avoid since they (we) are the ones making the most problems
Maybe some kind of causal game.
Canvas is pretty fun, but it ought to be possible to come up with something else, something that other places don't have.
Could also attempt to do content competitions. Gamedev-jam, music composition, graphics, painting etc. Just use long deadline please. No shorter than a month.
More courtesy, listening, and empathy of the human. I have seen too many times users jump to conclusions, extremes and high levels of hatred in their words. Things that if done in person would also cause others to avoid the situations, but when done online we all give it a pass. I'm sure I'm guilty of this as well. π«
I agree. Sometimes words can't fully express what we mean because we also rely on subtle cues from facial expressions and body language, and not everyone is a good writer. I've realized that my partner and I sometimes misunderstand each other, but things become clearer when we meet in person.
More non-tech niche hobbies, which need more non techie adoption in a way
IME, that sort of content just gets ignored here, no comments, few votes
Which is why we need more activity there
More people posting content that they enjoy to share with others
Niche craft, food, and game communities with lots of people posting/interacting
More happy memes, more people posting about their hobbies, more people solving problems together.

Making it so when Mastodon users post here, they don't shit the place up with their @s and #s.
I think better compatibility with the Mastodon side would go a long way towards fixing the userbase / content problem.
There are 672k monthly active users on Mastodon who can't easily interact with threadiverse. Although this is mostly a change that they need to implement
I thought it was just me who can't stand that shit, good to know I'm not alone!

Keeping bot posts at bay. Heed the bad example reddit set. It was once a good place until it was enshittified.
Good memes, nice photos, interesting art.
A more efficient method of sharing some hosted videos.
But in general just more people.
Rocks and minerals! Collecting them, observing them, and learning about them.
Trying to be more like LadyButterfly is a good place to start
I would just enjoy for the content to be 80% memes, like imgur in the good old days.
\c\all, with some light moderation.
Then some curated βdefaultβ communities with a mix of rotating non-defaults.
You can already see all in mobile apps and most instances
An all community, like how Reddit started. Being able to start up a fringe community when there isnβt enough content to keep it active really restricts community growth.
