Such loss to the internet and every single guide over internet...

No more 7yo [removed by moderator] and [deleted by user] most precious tutorials, hints, guides, solutions.

Typical "product owner/manager" mentality to show percentages of engagement growth or whatever stupid KPI they came up with. And those shitheads are the most incompetent and the most high off AI. I just hope enshittification will be complete some day and everything will be brown and smelly (just like those Claude UIs).

It won't be long before the website is gone entirely and you have to use the app.

I think that's the overall goal. Much harder to block ads and they can collect a ton more data.

Hoping this triggers an exodus to lemmy and mbin to make the communities a little more active.

I don't want curated posts only of my interest. I love /all for the scrolls. It's a sad shell of what it used to be with leadership that wishes they were Elon.

Do we know what percentage of visits are from not logged in visitors? I imagine that all the people that visit reddit through searches for information are not likely to be signing up for a account, so they will be losing a bunch of that traffic and ad revenue.

Putting all that community generated information behind a login screen is a massive loss even if you don't use the site regularly.

Those of us still with active Reddit accounts, now might be a good time to gently encourage people on Reddit to check out the Fediverse. Suggest your favourite Fediverse website by URL (don't just say "Lemmy" or something; we know people trip over themselves to hate on the whole choosing a website thing).

I don't know if it's a good idea or a bad idea to mention the state of smaller or niche communities, but it feels more honest to me to just say that we could use more people here who are willing to build an alternative, and not just scroll one.

And age verification is a thing. I miss the excellent discussions. I don't see them here. It's a list of comments, no reactions.
