If Dem leadership trys to shove this asshole down our throats in 2028 we're going to get a third Trump term.

His plumage serves as a warning sign to any potential voters that his policies and lobbyist history are toxic.

This is the next Democratic president. Mark my words.

"he's better than trump" will be the justification for him running. Nothing more than that. And he may not be as bad as trump but that bar is so low you'll have to excavate to find it. So that's pretty much what i get from Newsome: marginally better than trump. He's got the billionaires interest close to his heart--just like the orange pedo. The data centers will continue to ravage the country, universal healthcare will remain a pie-in-the-sky, and nothing will meaningfully change (for the better, at least)... But at least it won't be a 3rd trump term? Those Democrats are really pulling out all the stops 🫠

Don’t forget the part where he fixes the deficit enough but doesn’t do anything else meaningful for the Soc dems, doesn’t go fast enough for the normal “dems” and then gets replaced by a republican next cycle anyway

God I wish Pete were a viable candidate.

He is imo. He has most Millennials I've spoken with interested. He has name recognition, good experience in the role as an executive, and he has a decade of populist messaging to back him up. He's not a fully forced fledged progressive but he's moving away from fascism and that's pretty cool. The only attack against him that works is he's gay and for most people with a brain that's not an indictment.

The other attack would be, "Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15!" FFS he said that in Texas!

"he's better than trump" will be the justification for him running. Nothing more than that.

And just like the last time the Democrats tried to campaign on only that, they'll lose again.

When I see people like Newsom and Schumer and Booker say the things they say and do the things they do, the argument about a controlled opposition party becomes so clearly apparent.
