Fuck car loose regulations. If you have someone of age close to you still driving, monitor their abilities and be ready for the talk. And it sucks that losing that privilege is a huge impact on most people, including the elderly. We need better infrastructure to reduce cars, increase safety, but also more things in place to take care of those who would be hit hardest by loss of the car-centric society we've built ourselves into (mainly US).
Now, for all I know this guy has a record or history of DUI or something, but I saw the age and also thought of this problem. I've seen an accident where an old person was driving a big ass car and just plowed into a bunch of mailboxes. Maybe health-caused, maybe just bad reaction time for a turn.
The title doesn't do picture to what must have happened. I didn't even get it at first. 23 people, a whole group of bicyclists, in an area where it's common to see this, and he just ran into them all. That only one is dead is amazing.
