Fucking bravo. Why talk to an insufferable cunt?

Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Unlike China Brazil doesn't have as much leverage, but taco showed us that over and over again that even if you surrender he will still hurt you.
Japan is example. During his first term they accepted unfair deal hoping that won't have to worry about it and he still hurt them.
Domestically people and institutions see the same, for example UCLA bent the knee, and right now there's article he still cut research grants to them.
Sad thing is that still almost no one seen to learn from mistakes from others, they think that perhaps they are special and things will be different.
Same for Europe, negotiated to buy billions in weapons to get 15% tariffs, then a week later he threatens 35%.
Fuck that
Brasil top exports is oil, minerals, sugar and coffee.
The first two can easily find a market somewhere else, while can Americans live without sugar and coffee?
Now we just need to figure out how to get those coffee beans from Brazil to Canada without a stop over in shithole country.
All of my favorite beans come from Brazil and the prices are all ridiculous because they're getting passed through the US. Or at least that's what my coffee roaster says.
Or at least that’s what my coffee roaster says
That's the main issue
In Europe we're getting price increases due to American tariffs and this pisses me off too much
what I am concerned about, is what if the USA had the idea of placing export tariffs to brazil? this could be potentially way harder on brazil since Brazil actually has a trade deficit with USA, yes some other place like Portugal can try to buy USA goods and resell to Brazil to avoid the tariffs but that still increases the price by a lot. IIRC a very important import from the USA that brazil has is fertilizer, Russia may have biggest supply of the raw resources, the but USA still is one of the biggest producers, and Brazil buys a lot of it
I wish all world leaders had balls like this. Fuck trump and fuck America under trump.
Thank you for the qualification that this is 'America under tRump' and not the usual America!
I lived there for 10 years and have a lot of fond memories of the place. It's always had its problems, but it's always been an amazing country in a lot of ways. But I got to see the Obama years and the growth of the tea party and this was always coming. I'm convinced that leaving when I did is the best decision I've ever made for myself and my family, and I really feel for all the people who are stuck there with this insane death cult.
The Trump presidency is eroding the international US standing at a pace that leave me speechless. He is shooting in the foot all the US historical allies and enemies alike. Even Europe is slowly distancing itself from US, that was unfathomable a decade ago.
The US sets the pace, and the EU has no choice but to react at that pace. In Trumps world view there are no allies, only exploitable resources and enemies. International relations erode quickly when souvereign countries are threatened to either bend the knee or be treated as an enemy.
Trump basically got done what Putin never was able to do. They got the EU to agree on stuff and prepare for military actions agains Russia. The EU has this was up call that we can't bet our safety and future on an American (NATO) promise that might be only a promise.
Thank you sir for doing what should be done. Don't engage the geriatric orange toddler.
There is no downside for Lula on this move.
Trump is launching this war to protect Bolsonaro (Lula’s rival who was convicted of trying to overthrow the election).
The Brazilians who support Bolsonaro are the same people who will be hurt by this trade war.
This is the way.
Yeah but it shouldn't have to be
Americans decided it should be
