- Blogsites are treated in the same manner as social media sites. Medium, Blogger, Substack, etc. are not valid news links regardless of who is posting them. Yes, legitimate news sites use Blogging platforms, they also use Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube and we don't allow those links either.
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

It's actually the opposite, you psycho, lol. It's an overcorrection of male libido, it's "benevolent sexism". Not that I support it, but at its core it's meant to help men avoid sinful lust, which is evidently positive (and only a hedonist would disagree).

It's called exclusionary sexism. And men not being able to avoid sinful lust is just an excuse. The true purpose is to limit women's social circles to male family members and other women. Isolate them in order to control them.

In part, probably (like I said, there's at least a tinge of misogyny in contemporary "Muslim culture"), but not in essence. The "sexism" goes both ways, and at least ideologically one way, since it's the men that are seen as the disruptors of the peace, and the women as the object of temptation (inherently so obviously innocently as well).

You see the same thing with most Male dominated institutions. Religions are some of the last holdouts excluding women from holding positions of power. Its easier to control people, when the one half controls the other half for you in the name of "culture".

It's not just muslims, you see it in Christian nationalism, pro-life movements, Mormonism etc. Women always have their "role to play", while the men have no such restrictions.

The idea behind it is "grown women are sexually attractive and, in order not to disturb them with our unwanted advances and not to disturb ourselves with unwanted thoughts, the sexes should be separated in such events". Now, I don't agree with it (and I'm not that afraid of having passing 'sexual' thoughts, lol), but the core idea is one of prosociality and female safety, that's undeniable. It's at best unnecessary and low-key hurtful both to the women who want to participate and to the men who don't feel like mindless rapists, but counterproductive virtue signalling and at least a tinge of sexism is sadly a big part of mainstream "Islamic culture".

No, it isn't. That's not at all why the separation of sexes exists for Muslims.

It's about the fact that once a woman reaches a certain age, she is now eligible for being owned by someone other than her father and must be treated as exclusive property that only one man can own. Restricting their movements and not giving them the right to drive a car or vote or do other "normal adult" things is all the same as separating the sexes and making women wear certain clothing.

I wouldn’t consider myself a hedonist and I disagree. Men should learn to control themselves, and that doesn’t happen if they’re never exposed to things that challenge them. Repression doesn’t make things better, it makes them awkward, obsessive, and it makes discussion taboo. Which makes abuse all the more likely.
