Turns out the UFO I saw the other day was, in fact, a drone

Was it an alien drone
If only. Then at last the possadist were right.
Identification is the third worst thing that can happen to a UFO.
The first worst thing is landing in the US
The joke I was going for was
worst: ceasing to be an object (being obliterated)
2nd worst: ceasing to fly (crashing)
3rd: being identified
There was an insane massacre in brazil by the police, more than a hundred people killed 😐
The police are a gang.
Hello everyone, I'm new here, I've been lurking around for a little bit and have finally decided to get myself a lemmygrad account. 🫡 🫡
Welcome!
hi.
I keep lying to myself that "one day we'll have a discussion about AI on Lemmygrad that is not entirely bad faith" and call it revolutionary optimism. 🫠
Moroccan diaspora when Palestine: FREE FREE PALESTINE AGAINST OPPRESSION
Moroccan diaspora when Western Sahara: YES WESTERN SAHARA IS OURS LONG LIVE MOROCCON KINGDOM 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
Well dont you know that the Almoravid sultanate-
Like, even party members of ours are like this

Talking to people who think in individualism feels like different languages at times, stuck talking past each other. Or at least, I think that may be the cause. It can go a little something like:
Me: something something systemic issues
Them: okay, but like, you have to do what you can with what you have
Me: I know, I understand you have to work with the circumstances in front of you, I'm just saying, systemic issues though
Them: but you have to do what you can with what you have
I don't know if there's anything I can say differently in this kind of situation to bridge the gap, or if it's just a fundamental difference in worldview.
They might see it as complaining about something beyond your control, because the average liberal doesn't even consider doing anything beyond voting or maybe protesting (although if you suggest organized action, they'd likely just claim that it's unrealistic)
That's a fair point, thanks for your thoughts on it. I have wondered if it's in that realm of things, but this crystallizes it more I think. Like because they don't see it as realistic to force the world to change (or are too fundamentally icked out by the idea of collective force), they fall back on changing themselves as the only solution to anything? (Well, changing themselves and maybe trying to influence a few people in their circle, but that's about it.) That seems plausible for sure.
Wilders is claiming election fraud in The Netherlands bruh lmao
Dutch media is now trying to frame a party of which the number 2 is saying she was reading Mein Kampf and for excited to gas the Jews as a decent party for the government
Well after two decades of neoliberal decline the Dutch people are fed up and have now voted for neoliberal decline
Dutch people fell in line with rest of the EU in austerity for endless militarization death spiral
I just wanted to post this stamp I got, not my photo but it's the same one. I just like a lot of the art designs that went into soviet stamps.

wow Soviet stamps really were amazing!
My Amsterdam bubble strikes again. I was so convinced my party BIJ1 was going to get a seat or at least grow a little bit in this election. But Amsterdam is basically the only place where we grew in votes. In Utrecht we had a very slight growth as well. Nationwide we declined in number and did not get a seat. And Amsterdam is also one of the only big cities where the socialdemocrats were the biggest instead of the social liberals. Although Utrecht was very close with socialdemocrats only half a percentage away.
If it makes you feel any better i voted for BIJ1 and I am no where near Amsterdam
Well votes from people in foreign countries still have to be counted, which is 90K, of which at least two Bij1 votes lol. And the Caribbean areas and ABC island still have to be counted. And part of Amsterdam.
So, it is still possible. But it's looking shit.
Also, party building and getting seats in Parliament are two different things. We as PVDA spent decades being irrelevant in Parliament until 2019 when we had a breakthrough. But by then we also already had thousands of active members anyway, getting out in the streets.
Yeah it's looking bleak
About your second point, one positive aspect about BIJ1 is that we have growth in members and this election we had more people campaigning for BIJ1 than in previous elections.

My home if I got paid everytime I defended communism like people claim
help how do i get paid to promote communism online comrade xi won't respond to my emails
As if the US moves here in Latin America has not been worrying enough, the police of Rio de Janeiro just committed the biggest massacre the state of RJ has ever had, there's more than 160 dead, and only 4 cops died. The governor of RJ is saying that the operation was a success, even tho they did not even get the person they invaded the favela for. From January to September of this year alone, the RJ police has killed more than 510 people.
Shit's getting bleaker.
I was reading about the favela raids yesterday and physically cringed. I'm so sorry and I hope you are able to be reasonably safe.
Thanks comrade, reading and hearing about it has been horrifying. I'm not from Rio so I don't have to worry about any of that, but I feel for those living in direct line of sight of the police.
You are welcome. Please take precautions, as I imagine the circle to be ever expanding.
That's fucking awful, comrade. Stay safe.
Thanks comrade! I'm not from Rio and am fortunate enough to live in a place where I don't have to worry about the police, but seeing the reporting of the amount of people dead has been daunting.
It's good that you're safe! Solidarity with the people of Rio, that's horrifying.
I assume the police is political aligned with Bolsonaro?
Not necessarily. The military police and these death squads go back to the US coup in '64. They were aligned with Bolsonaro recently, but they are going to align themselves with any right wing government. Bolsonaro is not all that relevant anymore. He's under house arrest for now, and he's gonna be sent to jail soon. He's been convicted already.
The vast majority is definitely very reactionary. I can't say if they are still aligned with Bolsonaro since he has been losing popularity a lot for some time now, specially because of how he handled the pandemic. But I would bet they are Bolsonaristas, even tho some of them might not like Bolsonaro himself anymore.
I know there is a very, very small minority of leftists in the military police force, but they have to keep their mouths shut not to be extremely harassed, fired or worse.
Does anyone else have anti-vax family members?
I feel like Anti-vaxxers are some of the most insufferable people to exist, so much so that I want to pin them to the wall every time one speaks up.
Yeah. Its worse because that family member initially infected me with covid (possibly twice), then refused to test, then had to get two shots at the same time, which of course caused massive issues and then fell down a hard anti-vax pipeline, aided by very vocal anti-vax coworkers (one of which like verbally harassed me and claimed my lungs would get moldy and co2 would build up in my brain because I masked)
Even before the pandemic, that family member refused to get their ND kid any help because therapists are conmen who create and back in their day, those mental health problems didn’t exist. Given the rest of family is „critical“ of establishment medicine/science - I become the „problem“ the moment I even push back.
I've noticed some anti-vaxxers use supposed allergies to vaccines (if those exist) as an excuse to not get a vaccine. Maybe I'm being a little careless, but I'd rather these people have allergic reactions to a specific vaccine than not get it and be infected with a virus that vaccine is protecting you from.
It's much more infuriating if they refuse vaccines because to them they might cause autism or any other neurodivergences as if we haven't been around since the beginning of humans.
Given the rest of family is "critical“ of establishment medicine/science - I become the "problem“ the moment I even push back.
It's hard because they refuse to listen to what you're saying. I think for the most part your family knows what they believe is wrong if I'm not mistaken, but they still don't care that it is because they don't want to vaccinate their children and just allow people to needlessly die from a virus. So for example, just today my Aunt repeated the "Tylenol causes autism" nonsense to an Autistic person (me) and I pushed back telling her she has no evidence to prove this. She then claimed my Autism came from a vaccine I had to get when I was six-months old, as if Autism again isn't genetic.
Some of those allergic reactions are deadly. An ex-neighbor won't vaccinate their surviving child because the elder child died of an allergic reaction, not sure what the ingredients were, or how long ago, suspect albumin.
I do, when my mom was still alive, she tried to have my siblings get the covid vaccine for example, but they refused. Despite my mom working in healthcare and seeing people die from covid or my mom getting sick from covid herself to the point she needed to go to the er, due to her o2 low getting below 90, but she refused to go despite a nurse also encouraging her to go, and I had to watch her to make sure she was okay. I still don't understand how my siblings didn't listen to her
