The article is generally correct but I'd like to offer one glaring correction right at the top of the article.

The United States [used to] love~~s~~ to wrap itself in the flag of democracy and freedom.

They don't do that anymore.

It's never been true. But you can bet they're gonna keep on selling that idea. So I see where the writer of the article is coming from
