I'd spend twice that on my dog, despite not having that money and despite them being the dumbest asshole in the entire universe.

I hated reading that being the silly serf that I am

I thought this was on medical care for their dogs. Nope, acquisition. Huh.

Honestly this is the kind of ridiculous luxury shit I wish rich people would spend their money on. Bet those dogs are loved as heck, and improve the family's quality of life more than $200k of just about anything else. That's $200k that stayed in real economy without disappearing into the stock market black hole, into more "stuff" and pollution, or into inflating house prices by treating a fundamental need as an investment. Kudos to them!

You know, maybe spending $2000 on my terrarium isn't that bad after all

I’ve never known plants to eat their own shit.

Or need potty training, even.

Clearly smart enough to justify 400 or 500 k

I think I spent a bit more than 3k on 3 terrariums.

The thing is… they're built into basement window casements (and totally code approved, apparently. Henry from the permitting people was extremely helpful. And intrigued.)

(They’re also quite happy terrariums. Just use native plants so they do okay if it gets cold.)

This guy is going to be pissed to know a shutzhund training group I was a part of had a shelter rescue border collie in it. You don't need 6 figures to get good training and loyalty.

Nope. Not at all.

There is something to be said for buying a puppy from a reputable/proper breeder. It this is just ridiculous.

Hell. A pound dog saved my life as a toddler. (Total jackass the rest of the time though. I was the only person he liked.)

I got my last dog free in a carpark where he was being taken for one last walk before they were going to put him down. He went on to live to 14 years old and was the best dog anyone could hope for.

People spend money on all kinds of things. They spent it on a new best friend, and family member ❤
