"Here in the Democratic party what we do is separately bitch about something, but never, and I mean never use our power collectively to try to affect change. The most we'll do is put on a show and then cave in."

"Here in the Democratic party what we do is separately bitch about something, but never, and I mean *when it doesn't benefit our big donors* use our power collectively to try to affect change. The most we'll do is put on a show and then cave in."

This is how the right-wing of the Democratic Party is acting like the «loyal opposition» to trumpist fascism. This is acquiescing and normalizing the end of democracy. So Resistance requires resisting these yahoos too.

Edit: this is what this fuckface doesn't want to whip votes against:

Look at that dangerous narcoterrorist!

The headline right below this on my feed is "ICE detains 5-year-old, 3 other children in Minnesota school district"

Fuck you, Hakeem Jeffries. How can the Democrats be in the minority of every branch while fascists ransack this country, and still come out looking weak-willed and corrupt? It's a skill. Just say the right things for fuck's sake.

This is not just incompetence or weakness. It is legitimation.

I think it’s incompetence and weakness. The time for his brand of middle-of-the-roadism is so over.

Say that minds me - please vote.

BUT if you Donate to his Reelection Campaign he MIGHT Think about POSSIBLY doing SOME Sort of Strong Letter to MAKE ICE Aware Americans are NOT HAPPY with them Murdering Mothers and Kidnapping Children!

I wish they were getting paid to be this stupid, but no, it's literally cowardice:

They’re terrified of being labeled anti–law enforcement,” said a Hill source tracking the legislation. “They want this to go away so they can talk about the cost of living more. Problem is, it’s not going away.”

The only way to get democrats to pass anything is to attach it to funding for netanyahu.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 3 weeks ago

He was so close to growing a spine that I knew something was strange when I saw the headline that said "Hakeem Jeffries says no to bill funding ICE."

Another one bites the dust.... Democratic Reps. Henry Cuellar (Texas), Don Davis (NC), Laura Gillen (NY), Jared Golden (Maine), Vicente Gonzalez (Texas), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), and Tom Suozzi (NY) joined all Republicans but Rep. Thomas Massie (KY) for the 220-207 vote that sent the legislation to the Senate—where the GOP also has a majority, but it’s so narrow that most bills need some Democratic support to pass.
