his January 6 show featured a fawning package on Secretary of State Marco Rubio that featured the utterly surreal lines: “Marco Rubio, we salute you. You’re the ultimate Florida Man.”

“Marco Rubio, we salute you. You’re the ultimate Florida Man.”

This was intended to be a compliment? "Florida man" usually isn't.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Just because he is from Florida does not mean you should ascribe the label. The rest of the country typically views such people as the worst of the worst in society, that should be endlessly mocked.

"Florida Man" refers to the headlines of articles that are often about someone doing something excessively stupid.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 3 points 3 months ago

Exactly. My point is they didn’t get that.

Cbs is dead to me. I'm now onto cbc and bbc for less biased news.

Keep a very large salt shaker around if you are going to watch Gaza coverage from the BBC.

The interviews “made me very convinced that this is the next big thing,” says Dokoupil, in a more traditional interview conducted via Zoom. “What was incredible was how quickly my brain stopped thinking about this as virtual reality and just took it as reality. It was just real.”

No, what's incredible is that someone that credulous about the now defunct metaverse bullshit is allowed to talk about serious issues without a chiron constantly reiterating that he's a colossal idiot bootlicker.

Show him the fat superior second life and then watch him have a stroke, cum, and die.
