The 'probably quit this week' turned into overdrive as I decided to rip the band aid right off and turn my resignation in today. It's done. Few weeks left at this place and then it is... nothing? No idea what I'm gonna do but I believe in myself.

Lemmygrad Continues to Show Resilience in the Face of Extraordinary Challenges

11.02.2026

Starting from the 9th of February 2026, many users have reported that images on Lemmygrad have not been functioning as expected. A large amount of older images in posts, comments, and profile pictures have become unavailable across Lemmygrad communities.

This issue was not caused by any failure of Lemmygrad's infrastructure, rather due to an unexpected and untimely disruption to one of Lemmygrad's primary logistical partners.

Since its founding, Lemmygrad has had to overcome many unique challenges not faced by projects less hostile to capital. A lot of diligence went into finding reliable hosting partners, a task made considerably more difficult given the project's orientation. On Lemmy, it has been the target of strategic defederation campaigns, anti-communist propaganda in liberal and anarchist communities, and has been placed on a hard-coded block-list for Piefed, an explicitly neoliberal and NATO-friendly alternative to Lemmy.
At the time of writing, it is not known whether the disruption and reported decommissioning of Lemmygrad's multimedia host is another deliberate act of anti-communist hostility.

Regardless of the cause of disruption, Lemmygrad has once again addressed the challenge with the utmost urgency and resolve. Respected comrade @muad_dibber@lemmygrad.ml has managed to establish relations with another logistical partner, minimise the potential damage from the incident, and is working tirelessly to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Whereas many other communities may have faltered and expressed frustration, the Lemmygrad community rallied around their comrades, showing support and appreciation for their efforts in addressing the issue.

Lemmygrad has not only overcome challenges like these every time, but has also never turned down the call to assist its friends and partners when needed. During the notorious Hexbear domain incident, an existential issue for the socialist instance, The Embassy of Hexbear on Lemmygrad was established to provide refuge and an open line of communication and coordination for Hexbear users.
It has also provided a community for feedback, recruitment and support for sister project ProleWiki.

Lemmygrad has shown itself time and time again to be a reliable partner, but increasingly finds itself having to rely on self-sufficiency. It is not yet known what the long-term solutions for such challenges will look like; what is known is that Lemmygrad, with the support of its community, will always overcome them.

P.S.This comment is a satirical dramatisation and embellishment of recent events. Don't take it serious, it's just for fun.

This comment is a satirical dramatisation and embellishment of recent events. Don’t take it serious, it’s just for fun.

I liked reading it though. For the most part, feels like the kind of press release lemmygrad would have if it was a socialist state project.

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 2 months ago

Don’t take it serious, it’s just for fun.

Why would I not take such a well written and informative press release seriously? The tone and cadence is masterful. The content is factual and optimistic. 10/10

i got fired 1 month ago and just recently left. i was very tired of work tbh. i wasnt enjoying what i was doing i didnt have any time for myself and i returned home very tired every day for a year. im actually looking forward to being "unemployed"(i still have another part time job and some freelance stuff) i could work on personal projects and finally rest and read some books, the only minus in being fired is not getting paid lol, but i still have enough income to be comfortable for a while. im a 3d artist motion designer btw but i was doing soc media posts in that ad agency lol it was more like spam content and i rarely used any 3d programs i just used photoshop lol, so yeah the only minus it has is not getting payed but other than that its great. btw you wanna know why i got fired? i asked for a payraise lmao and instead of them saying no they just fired me like wtf? eh whatever employee rights are fucked in my country fuck them

Been thinking about that tweet that goes, "Climate change will manifest as a series of disasters viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer to where you live until you're the one filming it".

Metaphorically, this is true of capitalism and its contradictions, not just climate change. Some are more insulated than others for now, but that won't always be the case.

I don't mean it in a scary doomer way either, it's just like... living through decline is not going to be pretty, already isn't. And it's not going to turn around unless the regular people oust the imperialists and the capitalists from power.

Lmao @ the Ukrainian athlete who ruined his shot at the Olympics because he just had to wear a helmet with killed people on it. Mate, the IOC is on your side. Russia is already banned. They're not going to jump through any more hoops.

[–] 6kb_@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 2 months ago

How comically absurd is it that here in good ol’ US of A, you can advocate for genocide into a megaphone in public. Yet if you punch that person for advocating for systematic murder, you are the one who gets arrested and charged.

The Winter Olympics is dope as fuck. Yesterday I was really invested in curling. Today got me yelling at the ice skating. Really impressive performances.

Fuck the IOC though. Fuckers can't even ban Israel.

Learning about why so many German socdems and theory noobs support Palestine’s occupation almost depresses me. I know that atoning for the Shoah was never anything more than a pretension, but I can think of so many better ways to support Jewish people that are easier and more effective than cheerleading a decaying apartheid régime and wasting dosh thereon.

Attending synagogue services? Attending holidays or festivals? Learning a Jewish language or dialect? Trying a Jewish cuisine? Educating others on Judaism or Jewish history? Asking tasteful questions? Nope, nope, nope. All that you gotta do is support Palestine’s occupation and you are good to go! You can even act antisemitic while you are at it!

While I hate to use religious comparisons, I can’t help but think of antinomianism because the principles are so similar: just do this one little thing and after that, you can do whatever you want. Imagine how many settlers would unkiddingly say that I am worse than Anders Breivik.

goofy thought: u know all these bourgeoisie pedophile scum didnt stop after epstein got caught, who do yall think is the new epstein? my money's on thiel

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It wont be one of the billionaires. Epstien was not born into that world he shoe horned himself in. Also there are dozens of fixers like him even if he was the best connected one. He was the coca cola of his industry and since he departed the market other cola brands have been working to fill the void.

repost but: my two kazakh friends repeat anti-soviet union talking points and say that famine was intentional (well one says it was just to send food to frontlines but still said ‘intentional’ suggesting malice, and was the one to use the word empire). how do u approach conversations like these when they have familial experiences that are very bad but also without validating perspective that this was intentional? didnt have sources + things that disprove common narrative off top of my head, but yeah

Thoughts on the superbowl? I find it interesting that the NFL took this stance, some years ago they banned an athlete for protesting the national anthem due the police brutality and now they're hosting publicly anti-ICE artists.

There is also the chance that they saw this chance to target the latin women market, it was very succesful, many girl groups i know hosted superbowl parties just like men do to watch bad bunny lol. I myself don't like bad bunny at all but the girls adore him, i can appreciate him taking a stance on the issue, not that he took any risks since he literally got invited to perform at the superbowl, the top goal of any artist.

its definitely trying to appeal to liberal sensibilities, while hundreds of people that pass as latam are being arrested and deported

I knew it was inevitable, but I finally decided to part ways with some people who I've been clinging onto. They've been a bad influence and refuse to change for the better. I have treated them with my utmost patience and given them every opportunity to show even the slightest willingness to be better.

The only thing it has cemented in me is that I can't beat material conditions with ideology. I'm always open to the possibility that I am wrong, it just hasn't happened. It's like water mixing with oil, destined to separate, without an emulsifier.

Part of this has been my own faul with my lack of trust in people, fluidity can be a good quality it makes adapting to new things easier, but without a current-water can become impure and repulsive.

And maybe it's true, maybe a lot of people have become untrustworthy, maybe there are a lot of liars and schemers out there who want to take advantage of each other. It's possible that I will run into such people again, some of them are the vilest they're the ones who hide their fangs and bide their time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce on you, but courage is required to build a better world. Otherwise you'll just end up with liars and schemers on top of everything.

We need more China glazers on YT, the ultras and redlibs are too loud these days

[–] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Some of the "China glazers" these days are radlibs. Liking China is becoming more and more mainstream. Ultimately that is a good thing though, because it shows that China's achievements are becoming impossible to avoid or deny. So all sorts of libs are jumping on the bandwagon now. That's fine. Once again "tankies" were right way before everyone else. We were on China's side long before it became popular.

Imo people always crack eggs wrong

  1. You want to crack your eggs on a flat surface like a countertop, not an angular one like a pan or bowl. When you break it on a bowl, you're really just punching a hole in it, and you use that to get leverage to break the egg in two. But the rest of the shell has its structural integrity, so it's still difficult and causes problems. When you break it on a flat surface, the entire shell cracks which makes breaking it easier.

2.You want to twist the two halves, not split them. This isn't something ive heard anyone do, but I dont see why not. Twisting them breaks the shell in two while keeping the contents inside, which then allows you to pull them apart and dump them. This way you don't have to worry about doing both in the same move.

This is anecdotal of course, but I wanted to share this somewhere cause I feel like it's wierd that people break eggs in the most inefficient method

A while back I participated in DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). I've been wanting to tackle my anger with thinking about or talking about politics. I couldn't sleep as I was getting angry in my head over make believe scenarios lashing at liberals for all of the insane, fascistic shit they spew. Then in person, I get so blindly angry I just want to scream. The "this is not who we are" schtick from liberals boils my blood, I'm about to strangle someone. I tried all of the therapy techniques and none of them worked.

I feel that this anger is turning me into a reactionary. The only way I can throw water on it is to not participate in politics at all.

[–] Commiejones@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 month ago

There is nothing Reactionary about feeling rage towards hypocritical liberals. Giving into your anger is not a good tactic, especially not at this point in time so you should learn to channel that rage into something useful. Maybe practice some meditation to teach you to control your rage and learn to channel it into motivation for strength building exercises. When the time comes having access to controlled rage will be a good thing.

[–] amemorablename@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 month ago

May help to see if you can channel the energy into clerical organizing work in an org; the kind of work where you don't have to talk to people a lot, especially liberals. Not everybody has to be a big talker, especially in the capacity of tolerating people who are way different politically.

[–] amemorablename@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 1 month ago

Thought after reading the ad script on a box of tuna cans: capitalist marketing is the art of sounding like you're saying something without actually saying anything.

It's key to committing to nothing, so that you won't be held liable for anything.

Recently had my first proper discussion about Marxism-Leninism with a colleague. I have realised I need a well thought out plan, as my mind was full of responses but no structure to properly create a correct introductory discourse.

Any advice on how to slowly introduce someone without immediately scaring them off? Fighting against years of anti-communist and anti-china/dprk propaganda makes it harder than expected

[–] dudithebudi@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Just listen to them about their general complaints about capitalism and then show them the actually existing benefits that socialism can bring them. Radicalization doesn't come from arguments about Stalin, it comes from just showing them that their complaints and frustrations are valid and are an issue with their economic system, and that a superior alternative has, indeed existed. A great communist is a great listener, of course.

Like dudithebudi said listen to them and respond. Think of it like improv, they say a subject, (any subject) and you say "yes, and... its capitalism's fault" (some people might respond better to the ruling class, the billionaires, big corporations, etc) Nearly every problem comes back to capitalism, even the weather.

Once you have established that the problem is capitalism you say "and under communism that problem wont happen." and as they scoff and say "but communism never works" (or whatever other slander they have against communism) you say "Who told you that? Capitalists. bit of a conflict of interest there hey?" "capitalists have a monopoly on education, media, art, and culture, and they use that control to demonize their only legitimate rival." Then send them to Yellow Parenti.

Hello Comrades. I felt a bit down while reading Socialism Betrayed and got an idea for a painting. It's called "Andropov's Burial". I thought maybe some of you would like it.

Remember, comrades, history is on our side!
