This could have all been ended when it was discovered Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the Bidens. He should have been impeached and then imprisoned. The Republican party traded any semblance of law and justice for corrupt party loyalty.

You can't imprison a celebrity in america. How absurd

[–] diablomnky666@lemmy.wtf 9 points 6 days ago

Well obviously not a white one.

[–] neuromorph@lemmy.world 21 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Sure. Lets all assume MAGA believed it was a "hoax, or democratic lie" before today. Now that it isnt they need to explain why they still support Trump.

[–] Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz 2 points 6 days ago

Because that’s how they own the libs.

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Because it's about their side winning. They don't care about trump exactly, they care about their team.

"Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

[–] Ironfacebuster@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Full disclosure, this was a response to a deleted comment lol

Also, does anyone know why Connect for Lemmy is highlighting almost every comment bright purple?

[–] filip@sopuli.xyz 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You can go to Settings -> Comment customisation -> Highlight new comments to get rid of the purple backdrop. However, it didn't do this before with the setting enabled, so it seems like a bug to me...

Good to know, thanks. It's super obnoxious considering my theme is a dark red! Definitely seems like a bug, I feel like it would follow your "material you" theme more if it wasn't

This entire political party is fucking insane. It's telling that this numbnut is spreading the most reasonable message from their camp at the moment. The U.S. is so fucked. And it's pathetic how most people don't rebel. Now they say "wait for the next vote", but there won't be a proper vote. Your government are a bunch of pedophiles protecting themselves and each other by holding onto their power. Ah, will write nothing more. It's not doing anything anyway.

Look at her, with this "revelation" that literally EVERYONE already knew. For years.

“Bombshell”

Can she make herself useful instead of this self promoting bullshit? She never read one name off the Epstein files before she left office, as she promised.

My favorite part of MTG turning on her friends is that it is all in response to being told she won't be endorsed as a Senate candidate by the GOP. If she can't have her fiefdom then no one can.

[–] egerlach@lemmy.ca 122 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That's the thing about authoritarians: they attract authoritarian followers (thought not exclusively). If the authoritarian at the top fails to recognize those of their followers that have the same traits and give them enough of a "fiefdom" to rule, then they betray. It's one of the things that makes fully authoritarian rule fragile (most long-term successful dictators ensure they give enough power to the right people under them).

Dropped a bombshell? More like dropped some water in the ocean. This is obvious to anyone not burying their head in the sand.

[–] Scotty_Trees@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

So freaking tired of these bombshell reports and then once you read it, it’s like no shit. I already knew that.
