“Our god has balls”
The control of far too many of the levers of power and influence in our society rest on ensuring a majority of the population is unbelievably stupid. I think its what I hate most about the current fascist formula in use. It feels like peoples' ability to survive on their own has been stolen from them.
If it's any reassurance, the human race has historically been even stupider and less educated. It's better today by leaps and bounds.
100 years ago, the world literacy rate was in the 20-30% range. Today, it's ~85%.
The bad news is that the oligarchs use literacy as a weapon, through targeted media. So, yeah, it's not so much stupidity we're seeing, it's just brainwashing, pure and simple.
Yeah, but half-informed is oftentimes worse than not informed.
