He's in jail. You'll have to do your own dirty work.

We are all Luigi. We Are One

So if I had medical debt and the hospital didm't cash the check even after I called to tell them the check was delivered and they sent it to collections, who would I go to for disputing their incompetence?

A more functional country, if emigration is possible for you

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I hope the west coast secedes and I can move there. If not I'm sure Canada will have room for another worthless linux nerd who only has work experience in retail.

[–] AlecSadler@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 days ago

As a west coast resident I'm headed overseas.

Did you send it in a traceable way, and have proof? Then dispute it with Experian, Equifax, and Transunion, attaching the proof with the dispute. If you didn’t, you’re fucked.

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah. I paid it through my insurance who sent the check through instamed. Which, coincidentally, is the same company handling the pay if you pay the hospital directly through their website. Which makes it even more embarassing on their part.

It was only $166 so I don't have to worry unless the law is repealed and they make it retroactive. It shouldn't be retroactive but this admin has pure contempt for anything decent humans would do so.

[–] humorlessrepost@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Dispute it preemptively.

[–] Geetnerd@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

They're fucked, anyway.

Haven't you heard, corporations openly rule the US, now.

[–] Ironfist79@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The good news is the debt only stays on your record for 7 years.

[–] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 4 points 4 days ago

The good news is America isn't going to survive past 7 months.

[–] Geetnerd@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Nowhere, now, that the CFPD has been all but crippled.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

CFPB?

Worst comes to worst, a lawyer.

[–] Geetnerd@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

That agency has been effectively crippled.

[–] b3an@lemmy.world 17 points 4 days ago

This is just cruel. Who does this help? Nobody. It HURTS. Yet the same society is trying to put Luigi to death. This is fucking ridiculously wrong.

They want to bring debtor's prison back, to bulk up the "work force." And to enrich the Private Prison industries profits, and their stock in that.

What to know is that in the us you can choose between bit getting sick, ruining your family, or offing yourself
