A loyal army of followers, a huge disinformation network, and a party of soul-selling cowards can crowd out facts for a long time. But eventually, reality catches up.

The presidency of Donald Trump is now officially in collapse. His war is … not exactly a disaster, but it sure isn’t the cakewalk he envisioned when he sprang it on the American people and the world with no notice on February 28. His firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi because she wasn’t sycophantic enough indicates a man who is utterly incapable of understanding anything about how democracy is supposed to work. His economy is a wreck and may well get worse. His proposed budget, especially the half-trillion-dollar increase to the Pentagon, is wildly out of whack with the priorities of the public.

I could go on—and on. But on top of all that, Trump’s purchase on reality, tenuous at the best of times, is slipping fast. Think about what it takes for the “leader of the free world” (a phrase we are now obliged to tuck inside irony quotes) to wake up on Easter morning—the day of the resurrection of the same Jesus Christ in whose name “War Secretary” Pete Hegseth says we are killing Iranians—and post this unhinged and inflammatory comment on social media: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell—JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Pretty sure America is in total free fall. Good. Fucking so tired of Americans and their bullshit and illegal wars.

I am thoroughly enjoying watching the shit stain that is the American Empire fail.

Chinas going to be the next dollar reserve. A rapist completely fucked up the largest economy in 15 months. Fucking losers voted in this cunt, twice.

Get fucked.

Yeah, just about to say, it’s the country falling this time, not just this president. The problems are structural and deeper than Trump.

For the second paragraph I can’t agree: I’m not enjoying it because there’s suffering everywhere because of it. They’re reaping what they sow and I can’t say I’m sympathetic but it’s not enjoyable.

I can’t argue with the last and I understand the sentiment too.

Way to generalize and decide that every American is contemptible and therefore deserving of this fate. Your comment history makes a pretty solid case for presuming that you're either a naturally caustic, bitter, hateful person, you're experiencing a traumatic event, or you're stuck in trauma, none of which could be pleasant. I'm sorry that you're living those experiences, and I hope that you find some inner peace and a path to humanity and compassion again. To quote Frodo and Gandalf:

"I wish none of this had happened." "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

I don't like hearing people say stuff like that either, but then I remember what I've said about Russians under Putin, and...

What an American trait you have, to make generalizations about an entire country's citizens based on their government lying, cheating, stealing and ignoring what they want.

An American trait is war. You can call it as you like, but I’ve been on this earth for over 5 decades and in those 5 decades the U.S. has done nothing but harm the planet.

• I was born at the tail end of Vietnam. Your populace could have made changes to the industrial war complex, you didn’t.

• I was young during the Afghanistan war, your populace could have made changes to the industrial war complex, you didn’t.

• I was a teenager during the first gulf war, your populace could have made changes to the industrial war complex, you didn’t.

• I was a young adult during the second golf war, your populace could have made changes to the industrial war complex, you didn’t.

• I was in my 30’s during the weapons of mass destruction and the Afghanistan war, your populace could have made changes to the industrial war complex, you didn’t.

• I am in my 50’s now and once again you are declaring war and destroying innocent lives. Once again your populace has had over 5 decades to make changes to the industrial war complex. You haven’t.

America is first in line to deliver “freedom” to other countries as you see fit, but cower behind your televisions and social media when you have to defend your own freedoms on your own land and say “this isn’t me, this isn’t us”. News flash, it is. Americans carry this whether you voted for it or not. This is America, embrace it or fight against the tyranny!

You certainly sound more and more like you belong in America. How convenient for you to sit behind social media and blame others for doing the same. You're nothing but a bitter, rabid moron looking for any reason to spew hate at an entire populace different than you... Much like the American republicans. But sure, I'm sure Americans love what's happening to them and others. They overwhelmingly love the idea of bombing innocent children, out of control housing prices, gas and groceries becoming prohibitively expensive, medical bills through the roof and vital, life saving medications they can't afford all while wages stay almost 20 years behind inflation. Yes, there are idiots in America who staunchly vote for this, just as there are people in every country who vote for their equivalent. You should actually consider that a country is not made up of a single, monolithic populace. But that would mean you need to be able to think critically
