It's incredible how someone is so committed to doing the wrong thing in every situation. Next he'll outlaw sunlight and children's laughter.

I was in the process of replacing a very old, inefficient heat pump system in January.
The DOE efficiency rebate page and all information about it was gone from the website days after Trump took office and replaced with positively Orwellian propaganda: "Restoring Energy Dominance. Trump's Day One Actions will return the Department to Regular Order."
Trump has long targeted efficiency standards for appliances, blaming the showerhead standards in particular for ruining his “perfect” hair. In April, the president signed an executive order lifting restrictions on how much water can be used by showerheads, saying his administration would “make America’s showers great again.”
Doing the dumbest thing for the dumbest person for the dumbest reasons.
The best showers. The most golden showers.
On video tape...
Cool. Kill oil&gas subsidies next ;)
This reeks of Trump doing something for the media to focus on so they won't focus on the actual shit he's doing behind the scenes. Which means we should be looking for a bigger scandal.
He’s not that smart. He’s dumb as he acts.
To be fair, I don't think that his distraction nonsense would be smart either.
Why not keep it going, so that if you want to, you can purchase the least efficient products?
Because even his idiotic voters wouldn't intentionally drive up their power bill. Well, some might, but most wouldn't. But if it's harder for consumers to make that informed choice his friends in industry can flood the American market with inefficient crap and his voters will probably blame Biden or immigrants or Jewish space lasers for their increased power bill.
Because even his idiotic voters wouldn't intentionally drive up their power bill.
I wouldnt be so sure about that. They do shit like this all the time:
When it comes to harassing liberals, no price is too small
Only when they can performatively blow smoke in people's faces. You can't do that with a hot water heater.
crudely hooks up a diesel engine to replace water heater that rolls coal into their house and neighbors yard
Take that, you commie!!
depends on how hot
Free markets? In this economy?
Idiots will wonder why their electricity and water bill went way up.
What about the energy crisis Don?
But that was never the real point was it. Solar and wind energy keep a few dollars out of the billionaire pockets, so we gotta cancel that.
Just thinking, you think these companies would stop making those versions? Or is this race to the bottom?
Or is this race to the bottom?
Always has been. They've just been given jetpacks now.
But the serious answer is "whatever's cheapest". If their manufacturing is already setup for the current efficiency standards, then they probably won't change anything. Not sure how new models may be affected, but I guess it depends on the supply chain.
