DuckDNS

Technology Connections

Safely Endangered

Also supporting other creators through Nebula.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 1 points 8 hours ago

None, but will probably get a lifetime memmbership on Nebula....

[–] Sunsofold@lemmings.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Some of the people I was supporting disappeared. Now it's just a couple creators who are still too small to get algo love. Phedran is great, and if you are into chill gaming, you should check out her streams.

[–] stelelor@lemmy.ca 3 points 16 hours ago

Paralives! Because fuck EA for ruining The Sims (among many other games), it's time for a good competitor. Plus, they're from my city!

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

Climate Town

Logseq

[–] kiy@lmy.sagf.io 1 points 15 hours ago

PBS Eons and Wholesome

[–] nylo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 16 hours ago

Savannah Brown is the only one atm. considering following CJ The X too

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

ContraPoints, she only charges on months she produces content- it's not even every month if she isn't productive. Her Tangent videos are worth it.

[–] baduhai@sopuli.xyz 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

ContraPoints is fantastic, but I have a hard time watching the content if I'm not in the headspace for it.

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

fair, but her tangents are more varied in topic she has videos on psychedelics, spirituality, the Barbie movie, etc.

[–] baduhai@sopuli.xyz 1 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Huh, I would like to see that.

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

it's only $2 to get access to all the Tangents, well worth it

[–] baduhai@sopuli.xyz 1 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I'm allergic to subscriptions, but I might just consider it.

[–] dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 12 hours ago

then I would pay the $2 once to get access, then just grab all the links (they're just private youtube videos) of the tangent videos, and then unsubscribe 🤷‍♀️ not the most ethical, but ... it's still technically feasible

[–] remon@ani.social 37 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Too many ...

Mostly educational channels. I have to go and sort some out again ... I'm above $100 per month ...

Fucking Champ here

[–] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Defunctland and Technology Connectios. I just really want those dudes to keep making stuff. A 2 hour documentary on the history and merits of the FastPass system at Disneyland or how a dishwasher works is soooooo my cup of tea.

[–] SuperEars@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

+1 for Technology Connections <3

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I really hate monthly subscriptions. The only two I could justify are my $5/m VPN and 3/m discord just bc I used it so much.
Recently I changed discord to $1 to Wikipedia, $1 to archive.org, $1 to Lemmy. It's not a lot but gives me peace of mind.

[–] kiy@lmy.sagf.io 1 points 15 hours ago

Surprises me that people pay for discord. Were there features you used that were (worth) paid?

[–] Menschlicher_Fehler@feddit.org 16 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Not many. I had to stop myself or else my list would look like remon's.

[–] UncleArthur@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

I love Bobby Fingers!

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 day ago

+1000 for Bobby Fingers. Clearly you have good taste.

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Civvie has some great stuff if you're into arena/arcade style shooters. His Blood review is classic

[–] FeelzGoodMan420@eviltoast.org 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Zero. I hate subscriptions. Idc what it's for.

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

I personally think that's valid. Do you ever make one-time donations?

I tend to avoid subscriptions where I can, so the only time I've ever used Patreon was to access Dankpods' After Show (back when it was exclusive for patrons).

I really should give myself $200 or so to dole out between my favourite creators and open-source projects.

[–] KittenBiscuits@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

Just a handful, but I usually will add a new one when it hooks me enough that I can't stop binging it.

[–] whotookkarl@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Currently just Jeff Gerstmann, my favorite video games journalist

Right now its just Second Thought, I'm a leftist and love the content he creates. His video on East Palistine is really good and I would recommend it

I'd throw some money at the 'free' ones if I could afford to.

I stopped because I’m unemployed currently. But I supported a few 3d artists.

I support Extra Fabulous Comics and a comic called "The Lost Never Die."

Extra Fabulous never ceases to make me laugh, and The Lost Never Die is a newer comic with an art style that I love.

Special Books by Special Kids. He and his wife interview people with different disabilities and give you a little peek into their lives. Really interesting and inspiring stuff.

Honestly none. I don'y have thr expendable income to do that.

If I had, it couled easilly be 50+ youtubers, podcasters open source software devs, ...
