The use of Starlink infrastructure and the X platform by the U.S. and Israeli military, as well as Musk's alleged cooperation with the U.S. government, is enough justification to add his assets to a military target bank, the state-run Fars News Agency reported Thursday.

An unnamed source cited by Fars claimed the U.S. military used Musk-linked companies to carry out war crimes, including attacks on water infrastructure in southern Iran this week.

What absolutely boggles the mind is why would someone want to be the face of this current era? If I had 100th of the fortune muskrat has I would fuck off to my own island never to be heard from again

[–] ours@lemmy.world 10 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

It just means you're a normal human being. These billionaires have all the comfort and security in the world, and they still can't live a fulfilling life. They must have more power, own more stuff, tell everyone else what they think, and impose their will.

[–] jenings@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

If they don’t try to deregulate the next dsm handbook billionaire disease should be listed. It’s a mental disease

[–] jenings@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

Like you see it in survival shows where someone will have plenty of food and supplies but they hord it the point of start g themselves I think it’s the same thing with These guys

[–] maturelemontree@lemmy.zip 2 points 13 hours ago

Evident by the dork himself hiring someone so that he could pose as "the best Path of Exile 2 player" only to be ridiculed during his stream. Its just never enough. Can't just be the richest man, they have to be the most everything. Even then it isn't enough I'm sure.

Good. Kill him. We'll even help by giving his location.

[–] Greyghoster@aussie.zone 7 points 16 hours ago

I’m surprised that they waited so long.

[–] Rozauhtuno@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I guess evil dictatorships can still do accidental good things.

Godspeed, Iran.

[–] MyVeryRealName@lemmy.world 5 points 18 hours ago

It's definitely not accidental

[–] Sektor@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Iran, the fucked up theocratic regime is the lesser evil I'm cheering for.

[–] Greyghoster@aussie.zone 2 points 16 hours ago

Demented Don took a pariah regime and made it the underdog.

Iran doing the world a favour.

[–] FukOui@lemmy.zip 4 points 23 hours ago

One of the few actions that I agree with

[–] usernametbd@lemmy.zip 31 points 1 day ago

Add Elon Musk himself and any other billionaires as targets too please.

[–] EntheoNaut@lemmy.ml 30 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Do it, then explain.

Just fucking do it.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They can't get to him, but they _can_make him worry.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

In these modern times of drones, why wouldn't they be able to get to him? An agent in the US, a sub converted to drone platform near the US coast, collaboration with Cuba, just a merchant passing by with a special shipping container, etc. There are so many options.

[–] optimisticturtle@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (1 children)

I think Iran is playing it smart not attacking the US mainland tbh. They do a targeted operation on US soil then all of a sudden Bibi will uncover a terror plot and we need boots on the ground. They're winning the PR game, straining US alliances and seem to be managing playing defense well.

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah they are playing it smart. Best thing you can do when your enemy is playing it insanely dumb. And when your enemy commits horrible war crimes because you (possibly accidentally) take down a military helicopter conducting illegal ops in your territory with a drone, you can imagine what they will do when you attack their mainland.

But to get to Musk, you could also use some hackers. How funny it would be if spacex would be locked out of their starlink control, making all those satellites slowly re-enter and burn up. The only profitable part of his company. Or maybe lock him into his tesla and set it on fire by overheating the batteries. Just another Tesla coffin case.

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 4 points 21 hours ago

It just occured to me that he probably doesn't drive a Tesla.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You sure seem to have thought about this a lot.

I used to work in intelligence and am working together with journalists on Russia's shadow fleet, asymmetric warfare in general and the massive gray area it creates, and the evolution of drone warfare. I'm just well aware of current capabilities. Just look at the drone strike on the Russian strategic bombers deep inside Russia, from a modified shipping container from Ukraine.

well done IRAN! Iran is the lesser of two evils

[–] random_character_a@lemmy.world 59 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Why do I constantly find myself rooting for Iran?

There my atheist ass would be on the chopping block so fast.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 86 points 1 day ago

The enemy of our enemy isn't our friend, but at least they're our enemy's enemy.

[–] corbindallas@fedinsfw.app 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

its ok to root for the people beating your abusers, even if they are abusers themselves

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I see it as an Ostfront situation. Two horrid powers ruinously stuck in mutual refusal to back down.

[–] Mountainaire@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

Ultimately what it is is that it's really sad all around that it has to come to this in the first place...

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

The amount of secular people in Iran is pretty high. If you look up a video of people walking through Iran they really do not take the rules that strictly.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 49 points 1 day ago

Musk has been pretty proactive in politicizing the millitaries he gives access to starlink. Seems like a pretty rational target.

[–] ryper@lemmy.ca 59 points 1 day ago

Just in time for the SpaceX IPO. Let's see if they can scare away some money.

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago

Hey, something good might come this pointless war.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Why stop at his companies? What do they have in common?

[–] Mountainaire@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

One person constantly on the go is a far harder target than corporations with fixed structures, and it's not like the machine would suddenly crumple just because he were to drop... Let them do what they're doing.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

I'm sure they're gonna issue a fatwa.
