I used to think on my own, obviously we can't do that anymore either.
"The world is getting worse. Accept the loss." is a hot take for someone who is actively pushing the cause of this worsening and profitting off it.
He should go back to playing in the street. Preferably an interstate.
Street? Dude, are you insane? Just tell him to play on highways!
Ah yes the famous carless days of 1969 where we built paved streets for children to play in that then somehow got taken over by that damn newfangled invention. And right after we destroyed all those black neighborhoods for highways! The one for the kids to play up high on!
Edit: point being, like cars, AI can fuck itself. We never should’ve built cities and fucked the country for cars and we shouldn’t fuck up the country more for AI.
Double edit: didn’t even notice the community this was posted in lol probably didn’t need to add that edit in then but whatever.
The rare double fuck_X.
fuckcars ahead of fuck_ai by 10 upvotes, BTW.
we shouldn’t fuck up the country more for AI.
or environment, or water supply, or power supply, or children's privacy, or people's brains, or economy...
I still have yet to see anything from these fucks that justifies the cost in computer hardware either.

And that's the entire philosophy of AI investment. This is surely the next industrial revolution, so we need to be first so we win. Cause that's how you win capitalism.
Never mind that the entire industry is facing the dead-end where all of the data of humanity has already been hoovered up and we're still not at that damn singularity, and we kind of have no plan on where to go from here. All of that is pointless details. Someone's going to figure it out, and if we spend the most money it'll surely be us.
well put
I played in the streets, with the cars which were plentiful, and simply learned to not be a complete idiot and get killed. I am but a man, and these CEOs with their sunk costs cannot sway me. End this digital snake oil trend, reclaim the assets, and jail the perpetrators; then we'll all get back to playing in the streets like normal folk.
or you could, you know, make the streets once again safe for kids to play on? perhaps by rolling back some of this car centric shit?
I am definitely for this too, walkable streets build community. I wanna say one step at a time, but really would can do both of these things at once with the right political will and politicians that actually serve the public rather than themselves and their private sector pals.
So it’s fine to ruin childhood?
That’s a bad analogy
"Well, yeah. The quicker you ruin childhood, the quicker you get to employeehood."
--MBAs, probably
That's one thing that's been striking about the executive AI cheerleading, they keep coming up with simply the worst scenarios thinking they are describing something good.
It's like they are all out of touch sociopaths that can't understand normal human experience or something...
I think we should ban cars from using the streets so the kids have somewhere safe to play.
It worked in the Netherlands when Huang was a child.
Guy who sell shovels tells everyone they should be digging for gold.
Translation: The wealthy aren't trying to improve the world. They are aware they're actively making the world a worse place for you.
Also translation: "I pivoted my entire business model towards AI, when nobody wants to use it now, I'm totally screwed."
Whelp, when the stonk tanks to "affordable" for their failures, and they dump the AI clowns, I'll grab a bunch of it like it's the $5 PS2 games bin in 2010, and maybe I'll get a nice windfall when they start making GPUs for the people again. :D
...A man can dream.
Yeah it reeks of desperation to me
Please use it I MEAN you have to use it! Everyone has to! Because... thats the way it is now! Ive decided for everyone! Just find a way to use it god please!
By that he mean his kid doesn't play in the filthy street like the rest of us peasant. Kid still play in the street here.
Im sure that billionaire community he lives in, doesnt have kids playing in the streets
It will be in a gated compound, with it's own security. Then each house/mansion will be gated, with it's own cameras and security. "Fun" !
I just crossposted this and then found out someone already did, it's a quote that's like pottery
Man who gains from AI peddles AI inevitability. More at 11.
Society has a choice. I worry that people's general meekness might make them bend the knee once again, though.
So he wants kids to “use ai” rather than play with their friends?
Poor kids
Someone let that poor broken man play in the streets
Hey, we made a machine that does the thinking, you can stop thinking now, let the machine do all the thinking for you. Btw, you should absolutely mix bleach with pipe cleaner, you certainty won't regret mixing bleach with pipe cleaner.
PS. That is a joke, never mix bleach with pipe cleaner.
You know Jensen will mix bleach with pipe cleaner.
AI should replace all these rich assholes first. It will learn how to do everything else first instead. I guarantee it. Those bastards will outlive us all.
AI has made the internet so much worse. All the fucking AI generated websites.
No thanks.
Is he suggesting he played on an empty highway?
He looks good for being older than the automobile, doesn't he?
It has no choice to change because shitfucks like you run our governments
Pffft! What does Jensen Huang know.. I routinely still run in traffic with scissors.
Flyweight.
