Dude is really leaning into the "let's be the illuminati" bit, huh?

[–] tburkhol@slrpnk.net 45 points 1 week ago (2 children)

So, I'm not particularly surprised that a bunch of rich psychopaths hang out together, virtually or IRL. I mean, we all find our tribe eventually.

I'm not particularly surprised that a bunch of rich psychopaths hanging out together come up with schemes of mutual benefit. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

I've always thought of the Illuminati as a thing beyond that. Like, some kind of quasi-religious thing that transcends mere greed and grift. Maybe we've just reached the point in capitalism where oligarch collusion is indistinguishable from world domination, because enough of our governments have already ceded authority to their corporate overlords.

"Fascism is capitalism in decay"

Turns out "capitalist democracy" is an oxymoron, because every business is a plutocracy/oligarchy, that rewards psychopathy because morality is less profitable, who inevitably end up using their capital to corrupt everything in their favor (politicians, regulators, media, military, the entire population, etc).

It's actually kind of mentally ill that everyone just accepts democracy can coexist alongside systemic structural inequality, but I guess religion already proves that humans are just talking apes who'll believe anything.

We democratized our politics, but failed to democratize our workplaces and economies.

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

And it turns out, it is impossible to have democratized politics unless the economy is also democratized.

Mythmaking marks the point in time when they stop to care about advancing financial profits and try to convert it into other resources they can gain, e.g. legacy and influence in the case they are playing masons, but with a starting ego boost of 9000x.

He knows about the Antichrist

[–] forkDestroyer@infosec.pub 5 points 1 week ago

What were his antichrist talks supposed to cover up? There was something with that keyword related to him before that but I can't remember what.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Idk the illuminati were cool, he's trying to be what conspiracy theorists think they were

[–] Throbbing_banjo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 50 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Cory Booker and Jared Polis.

I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

Strauss Zelnick - Chairman & CEO, Take-Two Interactive Software.

having read nothing about him personally but plenty about how Take-Two acts as a company, I am not even slightly surprised that the head of Take-Two is the sort of chode that jives with Thiel and other techbro right-wing fascists.

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 18 points 1 week ago

And Ezra Klein.

[–] kboy101222@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sophia Bush seems like a wildly random inclusion...

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah her and JGL seem like outliers overall, I feel like I read something about him specifically being into something sketch a while back but can’t quite remember what, either way was surprised to see both those names.

Sophia’s entry is particularly hilarious because apparently simply being on One Tree Hill brings a lot of influence all on its own

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is huge on repealing Section 230, which would be disastrous.

[–] nao@sh.itjust.works 46 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Attendees are also asked to provide their “Political leaning” and are given the choices of “Far Left,” “Left,” “Right,” and “Far Right.” A disclaimer next to the option states that “answers WILL NOT be shared in the app or with other participants — ever.”

Then why ask?

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Bcz they're lying

[–] Bakkoda@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

They are gonna share them literally everywhere else

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Rule 1: we will never do XYZ

Rule 2: we are unrepentant liars

Rule 3: We want to burn the world down while we watch from bunkers

[–] damnthefilibuster@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Who wants to start a super secret group chat?

[–] Zombie@feddit.uk 44 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

We are currently clean on OPSEC.

[–] damnthefilibuster@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

We're always clean on OPSEC, yo!

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Super secret, but can we keep the topics as boring as humanly possible?

[–] BeUnique@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 week ago

This is the way! Making the use of privacy tools for no other reason than you support their existence should really be the norm.

[–] damnthefilibuster@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

yes please!

[–] Rawrosaurus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You know someone will show up with a special interest in whatever boring topic you pick and make it super interesting with all the lore and information they have on it.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I dare you to make accounting fun lol

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Accounting is the actual antichrist.

[–] Rawrosaurus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

I can only make arachnids and myriapods fun. I want to see someone make accounting fun though.

[–] one_old_coder@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago

!dull_mens_club@lemmy.world but it's not secret enough.

[–] one_old_coder@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago

We could start one on Lemmy, it's super secret and protected, and I'm sure the admins won't read our messages.

Dr. . Peter Attia is a Canadian-American physician and author who specializes in longevity and life optimization.

Super tight with Epstein

[–] Palerider@feddit.uk 5 points 1 week ago

That longevity didn't work out for Epstein though...

[–] SlumDogGazillionaire@piefed.social 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wants to be the next Epstein.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sounds good. Let's skip right to the final chapter, shall we?

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I'd prefer he commit suicide rather than have his clients murder him.

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Weird seeing Sophia Bush and Joseph Gordon-Levitt on a list of CEOs and Politicians.

[–] declaredreprimand@piefed.social 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

It’s likely due to his heavy campaigning for repealing Section 230.

Plus, his wife was a former OpenAI board member.

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

You'd think AI companies would be all about having a legal layer between them and their users, so I can't imagine they'd be happy with a repeal of 230.

Yeah, one would think that.

It’s all weirdly wrapped up with the wave of digital ID verification laws/bills in the name of “child safety”, which AI companies do want.

Curtain pulled back a little on the ruling class and how they control ideas and corrupt apparent "opposition"

[–] Mihies@programming.dev 8 points 1 week ago

Kaja Kallas on the list 😱

[–] Arancello@aussie.zone 3 points 1 week ago

Does the background look like the little xenomorphs from alien? Is he the role model for the evil corporations in the tv series Alien Earth?

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Kallas? I did not see that coming. Time to reevaluate.

[–] abc@suppo.fi -1 points 1 week ago

This would be a cool place to get into.
