Rules: (interactive)

1) Be nice and; have funDoxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

2) All posts must end with a '?'This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?

3) No spamPlease do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.

4) NSFW is okay, within reasonJust remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com. NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].

5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions. If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.

6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

7) No Hit-and-Run questions.
Please don't delete your post for no apparent reason. If you plan on deleting a question later, say so in the post, or if you feel that you have a good reason to remove it, message a mod beforehand. They said “hide AirPods”, not “hide AirPods AND look freaking cool”

I'm sure you can find this as a wig:

I have those. Someone tattled me.

[–] papalonian@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I feel like if someone's already ratted you out, you're already known as the "airpod wearer" and won't have a lot of luck with other covers

[–] MeowerMisfit817@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Hmmm, yeah, makes sense. I did that post at morning and wasn't very... conscious? I don't know the word. Yeah.

If you buy some nice over-ear headphones and wear those, you can hide airpods in your ears, under the headphones

[–] kindnesskills@literature.cafe 9 points 1 week ago

Have you tried asking for the option to wear them ahead of time? People tend to be less allowing and less forgiving when you're trying to be sneaky.

If you're autistic (or similar) you may even have the right to headphones and other accessibility tools when it's not a safety hazard. But that means announcing it to the people in charge and communicating your needs and rights beforehand.

Or you can grow your whole hair out to cover your ears, especially if it's curly it should provide good cover once it's long enough.

I used to work with a girl who wore hijab, and AirPods. Never saw the AirPods, just noticed when she paused her music through her hijab. So, that.

Put them under some over-ear headphones.

Does it have to be airports? Other brands have lesser footprint and are less noticeable. Wearing a beanie may be an option.

If this is the US, you're part of a protected class. You might be able to get a medical exception that allows you to wear them for sensory purposes or whatever.

I wear purple and blue Loops and own it.

Yep best solution

I saw an israeli woman once with a really stealth bluetooth earpiece. I only mention her context because I've searched and searched but never found anything similar. You could barely see it.
