Sorry for this odd question, but why "3.5 thousand" instead of 3500 or 3.5k?

Most people are like most other people. Being different in some niche detail is hardly relevant. What is it with wanting to be "unique" anyway? People want to be like others all the time, constantly. For many their whole live revolves around that.

Odd duality that people want to be like others but also super special and unique.

Huh? There are zero problems with any curve you can imagine. The issue is that each one is unique instead of mass produced. Most do not spend the $$$ on top.
