Not sure why people are talking about the “you can only enable or disable it 3 times a year” as if it’s an issue? This is generally a thing you’d either turn off or on once, depending on what it defaults to. Why would anyone need to turn it on or off 3 times in a year?
Why do you think no one asks for stuff like this? Facial recognition is one of the best features of photo storage systems as it lets you easily find all of your photos that have certain people in them. It’s fantastic for making shared albums with family members where any pics of certain people are automatically added once recognized.
Onedrive having it makes using Onedrive for photo storage and sharing a much better experience.
Caffeine is classified as a drug by the FDA lol. The FDA monitors caffeine levels in products and takes action when the levels are unsafe.

Yeah unfortunately I wouldn’t be expecting any real progress towards a “freedom” OS that can just be installed on any phone in the way that people are wanting for a decade plus, if ever. OEMs don’t want people using someone else’s OS on their devices, so they’ll take steps to prevent anything these guys do from working. The only thing that would change this is laws mandating it, and that’s not really something that should even be considered - at least for a currently supported by the manufacturer phone.
This isn’t really newsworthy anymore - European governments are all moving towards digital sovereignty for stuff like this, which makes sense. Microsoft will most likely start offering “host your own” cloud versions of these products soon to try and stop/slow the exodus, as controlling your own data becomes more and more important to governments and companies.
