I think we collectively as a culture would need to agree not to tip

That's what I'm saying.

which isn’t going to happen.

Not with that attitude it won't!

A much easier way would be through legislation and forcing employers to pay fair wages.

Then you get into the other massive issues - define "fair". Who defines what is a fair wage? Is it just minimum wage enforcement? If you raise the minimum wage for servers then you have to raise it almost everywhere else, which will fuel massive inflation and job losses.

I don’t think customers would be inclined to tip someone making a fair wage.

But when you tip you have no idea what the servers wage is.

Also as someone else pointed out in here, some states tried to get rid of tipping by raising the minimum wage of these servers and they complained so much the government abandoned it.

"continue to do business blindly because, “both sides” "

That's not what I said though - to be clear, I said there's no reason not to continue doing business with Israeli companies. Not breaking any laws, just carrying on with business.

Get "tilted"? What on earth? Is that reddit slang?

it’s not going to change the fact that most Lemmy users don’t give a shit about playing corporate slop games from EA.

Only because they can't because they all use Linux. And again with the "corporate slop" rubbish? Really? lol. What about Battlefield 6 is "corporate slop"? I can't wait to hear this.

You have very strong Reddit energy which is catching me off guard. Very strange to see someone defending microsoft/ea on the fediverse. Stranger yet to see someone basically rage commenting about it haha.

You have to be a parody account, right? Right? Like there's no way a person actually says these things and thinks this way, even on here.......right? You just can't get reddit off your mind lol.

So do you think it's not a job that anyone can learn with an hour or 2 training? You think it's a specialized skill?

Makes zero sense to use a dedicated music server if you also have other media to serve. Plex and Plexamp for me, haven't seen anything better on the market.

I didn't downvote you because I disagreed with you, I downvoted you because your comments add nothing to the conversation and are essentially pointless spam.

I think maybe you're the one who needs to go back to Reddit though, not me. That's 2 comments in a row you've brought it up without so much as a mention of it from me lol

Sony just announced a USD$50 increase to all their PS5 models literally the day MS said this. MS are just waiting to see what the market is doing so they can jack the price up to meet it. They don't want to announce $500 if everyone else jumps up to $600.

These are premium, low volume, enthusiast devices - the exact price doesn't really matter before it releases. The people that are buying one are already going to buy one, and we know the general price range that it will be in.

Microsoft has zero capacity, competency or even desire to stand behind this over things like game streaming.

Said like someone who doesn't understand why Microsoft are in gaming to begin with.

lol "Battlefield 6 is corporate slop" is certainly a hot take (a great tag to give you too haha). I'm sure you only enjoy the finest of artistic games that are all anti-establishment and must be played on DIY hardware using solar power.

You’ve bought the lie they’ve been telling forever.

I haven't bought any lie, I'm telling you the definitions of skilled/unskilled labor that have been in use forever.

Every person that goes to work is performing skilled labor. The only thing a person can do that doesn’t take any skill is being born rich.

Ok so your idea of skill is simply.....not dropping dead. Gotcha.

No matter what you want to think, serving tables is one of the easiest and least-skilled jobs in the world. It's why literal kids do it, it's why it's paid less than minimum wage, and it's why it's a last resort for many of the people who do it. Literally anyone can know how to do it with maybe an hour of training from another server. It's not a "skilled" job. It's a "bare minimum of being able to function in a society" skill level job.

Let me ask you this -do you think that investing is a skill? Choosing what to invest in and when and how much?

You think they've started lying and keeping logs since then?

Have fun not playing the biggest game of the year I guess, along with all the other most played games of the year.
