Proton is arguably the best option if you're trying not to rely on Google, and they are slowly building a suite of apps with the goal of directly competing with Google Drive, Calendar, Sheets, etc.

Yeah the best option is the old PC you already have. Unless you're transcoding video or into LLMs it will be more than enough.

Yes the way I see it, is if someone is spending $60/month on 3-5 creators that's still more money going to "the arts" than if the same person spent double that on streaming services.
