Imagine being anyone anywhere whipped like an Amazon worker. Will the waitress have to piss in bottles? Bad for tips I think.
A reality distortion field that seperates a person from the real world? What could go wrong?

It's the wrong approach. Earth is in a gross state of ecological overshoot. We should be embracing the demographic decline that will bring our populations and consumption back in line with earths resources.
A shrinking society due to aging is far prefereable than one due to resource exhaustion, deprivation and conflict.
Embrace a smaller population and a bigger world.
But then a lack of healthcare would be self-inflicted and deserved and the racist mysogenist bigots could die with a societal clear conscience.
