I've said this before, but I truly believe at some point a psychiatrist diagnosed RFK Jr with autism or some kind of spectrum disorder and we are now getting to experience his grand display of denialism.

The guy was best friends with his flacon, was constantly called an odd kid, and has been fixated with being around, talking about, or acquiring dead animals since a very young age.

I don't know if he's actually autistic or just severely traumatized, but based on his bio it wouldn't surprise me if someone's given him the diagnoses in the past based on his history of troubling behavior.

Women have more rights than men, PERIOD.

E.g: They don't get drafted

So your one example of women having more rights is a rule made by a society ruled by men? Some people would argue that women are being deprived of the right to fight for their nation.....

In most every metric of power in modern society, men are placed over women. In wealth, political appointment, the judiciary, the military, and the police force we see men hold the vast majority of power.

Name a right women have that men do not and I can guarantee that example was implemented and enforced by a group mostly made of men.

It's almost like memes are based on context...... The reason it's impactful is because in humans it's rare to see women be the more powerful sex, it's rare to see women kill men. Flipping the genders wouldn't flip the context of the the social norms that the meme is dependent on.

A large aspect of humor is a reverse of expectations. The reason this is funny and the reverse is not is because the meme is the reverse of the social normative of humans. Men kill more women, men are bigger and stronger than women, men have more social power than women.

Your accusations of sexism rings hollow when you actually use logic and apply the situation to the realities of our actual societal structure.

Leftists don’t have an “anti gun thing,” that’s actually a liberal virtue signal,

Which is why I said progressives and not leftist. Imo conservatives want to conserve or revert to a previous status quo, while progressive want to progress or reform the status quo without changing the overruling system. I guess the real problem is there is no international standardized language for politics, mostly because America is so far right it's reshaped the Overton window.

Progressives need to drop the whole anti gun thing. The social contract has been broken, the state will not protect us. The only people who have means to protect themselves nowadays are right wing chuds who don't have to obey the law and fascist law enforcement who are immune from it.

If one of these kidnapping teams rightfully gets a couple of their agents blown away because they aren't following the law and announcing themselves as law enforcement, maybe they'll think again before kidnapping families off the street.

America actually has plenty of rare earth deposits, it's just not profitable to mine them and then build facilities to refine them.

[–] TranscendentalEmpire@lemm.ee 83 points 7 months ago (4 children)

Lol, we aren't going to be mining anything. Rare earth minerals aren't rare because they're only located in isolated places, they're rare because they are only present in small amounts when mining other materials.

The hard part is the refining of rare earth minerals because it requires large investments in refineries to separate the materials and consolidate them. Infrastructure that Ukraine or America haven't invested in.

The minerals deal is just something that trump can point to as a "win" when in reality it's not worth anything. Just like everything this administration does, it's nothing but smoke and mirrors.

I build and fit orthotics and prosthetics.....this is mainly just a marketing gimmick. The myoelectric sensors that feed the data to the terminal device are built into the socket of the prosthetic. There's no real reason to wear the socket without the hand, and you can't operate the hand without the socket.

The hard connections from the end of the socket and the hand are very durable, and they typically don't really have any issues with wear. I don't think fidelity is a big issue because there's not a ton of information being transferred, the myoelectric sensors haven't really changed a bunch in the last 40 years and the amount of information being sent is minimal.

The biggest downside I foresee is that if you had different terminal devices, you're probably going to have to pair them to the socket whenever you want to switch. When the traditional hard connection is just plug and play. That and you are just adding extra things to break in devices that are built to take a beating.

Yes, and there were plenty of high level Nazi who rose to power in East Germany..... Just because Vincenz Müller was chief of staff for the east German army doesn't mean the Soviets were an evolution of the Nazi state.

It just means that both sides utilized Germans to deter or lead a conflict that was likely going to take place in Germany, and that pretty much all Germans with military or political experience post WW2 were at some point Nazi.

Welcome to government brought to you by fascism, chaos is how they consolidate power. You create enough chaos to exhaust and scare people, blaming the chaos on a scapegoat. You then say, well I could totally get rid of all this chaos if you give me the power to do so. The courts, and the legislators are obviously not equipped to stop this mess, we just need one person with supreme power to cut through the bureaucracy.....

Lol, yes it is. Greenland only has a pop a little over 55k people. Meaning that trump is offering a little over 500m dollars for an island who's gdp is well over 3 billion dollars a year.

Not only is he being incredibly stupid, he's being super cheap about it at the same time.
