Their whole shtick is to bullshit and confidence game their way through their career. Of course they're going to be impressed by the rock solid bs and confidence of AI.
And Tesla already walked right into that one. They produced their cars in China, starting up an ecosystem for EV parts, and that gave dozens of new Chinese car manufacturers the means to start up to become cheaper and more innovative. Now Tesla's sales are dropping and dropping there.
So of course Volkswagen is there to say "we can do that too".
The training data for a lot of robots comes from tele operation so that form factor is going to stay important for some time. And making the whole plant basically wheelchair accessible isn't worth it for now. There are variants with a wheeled base but once you add in some balancing for heavier objects and kneeling to pick stuff up it's not much cheaper.
Meanwhile an aircraft carrier is in the Caribbean for the war against drugs and/or terror, and there are only crickets.
And if they do sign the deal, it's probably installing a Russian puppet regime, squeezing every penny by USA and Russia to pay back the war and a new invasion in 10 years.

The system worked like that for a few millennia. We're just looking at not even a century that's the exception and assume it's the new norm. No, it's just reverting to the old state now that the period of cheap and easy resources is gone.
