Same I used to wear a red hat with my favorite comic character on it. I had to switch to a black version due to repelling the groups I wanted to be around and attracting the groups I didn't want to be in the same room with. I could tell a noticeable difference after I switched. They see red hat and feel uneasy even when its not the correct hat.

I don't think windows is an OS anymore. It just the personification of the checkout questions they ask you at GameStop or BestBuy about the extended warranty or magazine subscription.
