Back in the day where giving Mitch McConnel's wife a cushy job was path to fascism.

exemptions also include other electronic devices and components, including semiconductors, solar cells and memory cards.

Holy fuck on solar cells!!!! Huge boost for cost of solar outside of China imported to US, or made in US from Chinese cell supplies.

This can significantly accelerate US solar adoption. If Trump manages to lower interest rates, that is biggest payoff gain for solar/battery projects.

edit: China might still be tariffed 20% on these items.

Xiaomi/Oppo phones in US for the win.

US/Trump blinking continues. If electronics jobs were both desirable and already on a partial progress groove, then surely apparel/toys tariffs are next to be removed, and then only US military electronics will be 145% tariffed, if not blacklisted by China.

Trade deficit with China just substantially increased. US energy, ag, big ticket industrial exports just went to 0.

Is switch 2 a computer?

I'm not sure touching is important. Have a touchpad for rotation if you are too lazy to physically move around object. Buttons for 45^*^ rotations at a time would be even cheaper. Then, if purpose of display is to have many people around it, for "presentation purposes", then a 2d screen and 3d rotation software will show objects in much better resolution and cheapest of all, while focusing on angle that matches presentation point.

Dangerous times that could lead to war. Philippines or South/Central America.

I don't know China to be corrupt.

Oligarchist corruption specifically privatizes profits for social losses. Destroying/diminishing country is a sacrifice they are willing to make. But sure, bribery for foreign imperialist privatization is just as bad.

Right way to measure governments is oligarchist corruption. All CIA approved democracies fail at this, and so not in the slightest a beneficial model. Trade shouldn't be viewed as bad. Corruption and subjugation are bad, and trade deals should be looked at only under that framework.

It’s the natural resources in the ground that we should be using as slowly as possible

Iron ore is available everywhere. Steel production is more of a bottle neck, even if emergency development of a new mine might take 1 year (but increased production from existing mines is much quicker). In US, more iron ore is exported than used in domestic steel production.

Ok, ok. Trump absolutely loves you just as much as you love him, double if you're uneducated. He told all of the businesses that they should lose money on sales and go out of business instead of raising prices. It's those businesses who are assholes. They haven't even started manufacturing in US, and hiring white Americans to make t shirts yet, and its been a whole week! If you support Trump, then boycott businesses who pass on tariff costs, because they just don't love you/America as much as he does.

China has a lot more leverage to increase this price. Export tariffs on US listed companies to US, and perhaps to countries that choose to further increase sycophancy to US empire. Prevent US manufacturing with more export controls.

The problem with decades of propaganda/smearing is that too many people believe it. Bessent yesterday said "They only have a pair of 2s" as cards. No one in the room has not been programmed to "repeat that China is on brink of collapse for all of the last 20 years". Hitler couldn't win war because generals had to be loyal to every syphilis inspired thought of the dotard.

Accusations of dumping are an easy political attack based on lower costs than you. A good response to any imagined dumping is to buy it as a strategic reserve. Subsidizing domestic production can have a national security benefit to have plants exist, but it is actual steel that is national security, and cheaper steel makes better manufacturing inputs. Buying "their" steel makes their manufacturers pay more for it.
