Aussie here and yeah, someone here nearly hits a pedestrian and it'll be pedestrian: throws hands up in wtf gesture, shakes head and the driver will either be like fuck I'm so sorry or return the same gesture and perhaps swear out the window as they pass.

โค๏ธ autistic, ADHD adult. I cried watching the movie "I swear" last night about a boy through to man with Tourettes syndrome. It's too relatable just how hard life can be why you're different. I liked the message of the movie though which was that the disability isn't the problem, it's the lack of education for society that puts up the barriers. A lot of truth in that.
I hope your son finds people who he connects with without having to change who he is.
Agree with you here. It's wild that asking for sources is seen as shutting a discussion down. It's literally opening the discussion wider - unless the other side wants to take it as some kind of attack.

The thing is people aren't looking for reasons to believe it was faked, that's the default with trump now. The question is what makes anyone think it's real? He's the one who coined fake news so can't really blame anyone for not believing the "news" ๐

Yeah I think this is an issue in general with any kind of 1-10 scale! People tend to think 7+ is good. I don't think people recognize 5 as average or they see "average" as less than what it actually means - I'm with you that most media is average and that doesn't mean it's not worth checking out.
Anyone who creates a scale needs to be super clear about what each interval means lol because I think they get misconstrued all the time.
I do miss the old IMDb review/chat boards though. Before everything just moved to reddit, it was fun to go on there and just talk to people about certain movies. Was so good for when a movie had a confusing/open ending to share theories and stuff. Didn't get trolls when forums were all separate!
