A lot the world does, however, have to live with the constant threat of being bombed by our military or a military that our taxes fund.

Almost like the violence we export to other countries comes back home to our own culture and society.

I know what will help! More guns!

Have you considered… more ballrooms?

America is such a shithole.

[–] traxex@lemmy.dbzer0.com 76 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Absolutely. Lost my job recently and started having to drive again and let me tell you every single driver is some form of psychotic. It’s insane.

Sure. You have to be insane to get behind a wheel. I am insane for doing it.

Introspection is a gift, not a gotcha.

Especially me. I hate doing it so much. I don’t drive like a psycho but I’m certainly unwell.

As the pedestrian began walking away, the gunman, wearing a black hat and a black and white striped jumpsuit, parked on Canal Street and began following the 42-year-old before pulling out a handgun and shooting him in the left leg, police said.

He'd best get used to wearing that kind of clothing for a while.

Kicking or hitting a car that’s almost run you over is a hard instinct to stop. Like, I don’t bang on them or anything in anger, but just the instinct to fling out an arm or a leg to shove it back is intense if you’ve never been caught unaware by it. Escalating to shooting over that is nuts, also kind of nuts that he was in an actual car and not an emotional support truck, which is the kind of vehicle I usually expect the terminally carbrained to drive.

Whatever happened to a good ol' "I'm walking here!" Said with a strong Brooklyn accent.

Definitely. There are at least 5 or 6 cars in my city that have a pretty good scratch from my ring. I know it's just a matter of time before that goes wrong and I get a finger torn off in the most painful way possible, but goddamn if it isn't satisfying.

Next up: driver sues the family for damages to the bullet.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

In Europe a few years ago a driver sued the estate of the cyclist he killed for the damages to his BMW.

In Ontario, driver sues family of person he killed for the trauma.

You know in this particular situation I don't think the car was the main problem.

glad I live in Canada where if I do this, when somebody nearly murders me in a crosswalk after they blow the stop line on a red light, that the worst that'll happen is they'll try to get me to come back into traffic and fight them, but they'll be too pussy to pull over and park and come over to me.

I too have this policy. If I'm close enough to hit your car when you go by you deserve it. Might need to start everyday carrying though - I'll just shoot the cars instead. Much safer.
