the hashing part? it's the same algo as here.

the functional difference is that this does it once. you could just as well accuse git of being a major contributor to global warming.

hash algorithms are useful. running billions of them to make monopoly money is not.

a bangle.js is probably a better investment, as it sports the same always-on display and 30 day battery life for about half the price.

it's an "e-paper" display, which annoyingly is nothing like an e-ink display. it's an LCD with a memory chip in it. the bangle.js also has one, which can do eight colors. so better than the black and white one, but worse than the 64-color one. also it's half the price of the cheaper pebble...
