Ahhh, I was still a bit too young to remember much about the first game. Mostly just memories of my father playing it. I do remember watching a video explaining that Silent Hill 2 did kinda fuck up the lore between all the games. Since it was so self contained and specific to James' experience, any reference to Silent Hill 2 in the later games didnt make any sense. If Pyramid Head was created by James' guilty conscience, he shouldn't have appeared in later games.

Maybe it didn't get glowing reviews from IGN and similar websites back then but I remember it being extremely popular when I first played it as a kid 20 years ago. I actually rented it through GameFly after I saw it in a list of the best video games ever made.

I watched that movie with my girlfriend at the time and her father. After the movie had ended and the credits rolled, her father turned to us and simply said "He is a traitor". I fucking hated her father so much lol
