The only reason why we haven’t toppled (at least in the US) is because not enough people are missing their 3 meals. The second that happens for a large enough portion of the population the country will disintegrate. Food shortages are a massive destabilizing force and will force massive changes to compensate.

I mean price is a very fair criticism though, especially with the current state of the economy. If you can afford the higher cost for worse specs but better repairability then great. If you can’t then you kinda have to go with a non-reparable option, but at least those guarantee a charger in the box.

I use a iPhone, my mom and dad (may he rest in peace) were already using them and wanted to use the family features on them to keep my brother and me safe. I didn’t choose to be in the ecosystem, I was just placed in it.

I also just have no reason to talk shit on android users because I know many of them are like me. Just placed into the ecosystem by parents, since their parents used them. Also just who really gives that much of a fuck? It’s a phone, it’s a laptop or earbuds or whatever. Largely things that people just need in the modern world, and it’s easy to stick with what you know and what’s easy to use.

They have been off my wishlist purely because of the cost, even DYI with missing pieces is $550. That’s more than my laptop was new so pass.
