The Russian invasion of Ukraine is a war with genocidal aspects, what is happening in Israel is genocide and nothing else. There is no war in Israel, Israel already entirely encloses Gaza and a similar process is occurring in the West Bank, Israel controls basic access to food water electricity medical care... this is in no sense a war, it is wholly an act of genocide.

Save your handwringing about this for someone else who won't repeatedly post quotes demolishing your ridiculous narrative that the higher ups at Microsoft didn't have a pretty obvious picture of what was happening.

What, do you think they were are all complete idiots? I don't think so.

What did they do to turn you into their enemy here though?

Aiding and abetting genocide.

Israel is a rogue state committing a genocide, not simply "another" federal government.

If Microsoft suspects their servers are being used as part of a genocide by a government than they should immediately stop doing business with that government until further legal action and international UN action.

If Microsoft continues to do business with Israel they are complicit in the Genocide of Palestinians.

Period, end of story.

This is an overly generous take though, the important people at Microsoft knew and they need to be held accountable.

Yet the internal documents detailing Microsoft’s partnership with Unit 8200 paint a different picture of the company’s concern for Palestinians’ privacy. In fact, Palestinians were not mentioned in the documents summarizing the 2021 meeting between Sariel and Nadella, which also involved Israeli intelligence officers and senior Microsoft executives.

According to the Guardian’s reporting, Unit 8200 informed Microsoft of its intention to transfer up to “70 percent” of its data, including secret and top secret data, to Azure. And while the project’s ultimate goal (beyond “deepen[ing] the partnership”) does not appear to have been explicitly stated, an intelligence source said that executives of Microsoft’s Israeli subsidiary — who worked closely with Unit 8200 personnel on the project — were given clearer indications.

“Technically, they’re not supposed to be told exactly what it is, but you don’t have to be a genius to figure it out,” the source noted. “You tell [Microsoft] we don’t have any more space on the servers, that it’s audio files. It’s pretty clear what it is.”

I don't think Microsoft realizes we will never forgive or forget this.

Before I was inspired to join the Linux movement out of curiosity, open principles and fun.

Now I am a whole another level of committed against Microsoft, they have done much worse than lose me as a customer, they have turned themselves into my enemy and I never shut up or forget.

Columbia is a university of intellectual cowards for letting this happen.

So? There is a difference between someone using your tools for evil and actively engaging in profit seeking with said evil doer in order to make money hand over fist.

Microsoft is knowingly participating in genocide.

Act accordingly.

However, Unit 8200 sources said intelligence drawn from the enormous repositories of phone calls held in Azure had been used to research and identify bombing targets in Gaza.

Microsoft is directly profitting off of the Genocide of Palestinians.

Directly and KNOWINGLY profitting off of genocide.

Truly listen to those words and let them sink in. This is evil and we must hold those like this man Satya Narayana Nadella accountable for witnessing a genocide of tens of thousands, likely hundreds of thousands, and participating enthusiastically.

We will not forget.

For me it basically breaks down to

  • life

** social

*** gifts

*** birthdays

*** social event journal to remember past events

** tasks

*** repetitive weekly chore list

*** priority life tasks

*** housework/yardwork & maintenance

*** hobbies & whatever else

** meta stuff about the system (where this list of lists would be written down in an analog system as a map)

** daily scratchpad list archive

** today's scratchpad list

Every day I use the system I create a scratchpad list. I move the previous sessions scratchpad list to the archive (or delete it) ripping out the pieces I want to keep and inserting them into the relevant permanent list.

I am describing a system I implement digitally but a simple version could be done with some notebooks and a pocketable small post it note pad for "today's scratchpad list". This system assumes you are using a seperate calendar or integrated date stamps for list items so they can be displayed in a calendar view.

Not claiming it's original but this is the perspective that makes other more complex and fleshed out systems make sense to me as I can translate how that particular system maps to this abstracted recipe.

In a fully built out task tracking and thinking system the **tasks subheading is more of note system with tasks sprinkled throughout that a collating mechanism creates a list of just actionable TODOs tasks from.

How do I sort out just an actionable task list? With org mode tasks have a flag and are retrieved into a list of just actionable tasks by a basic software function, but there are ways you could translate this too into an analog equivalent with bookmarks in your task notebooks marking active TODO tasks.

As many as you can handle, which may be one or none some days or weeks.

What I do recommend is having a context for all your lists, a lists of lists that connects these fearsome beasts into a shape that can be comprehended by an adhd/executive challenged brain, a tree formed from branches all held up by a central trunk (your list of your lists)!

Actually I think of it not as a tree anymore but rather the inverse movement, a river network of converging frivolous lists of small things joining together as tributaries to form a unified flow that combines all into itself in terms of daily executive function challenges.

A concrete example of this idea in digital form is org mode (which this perspective is inspired from).

Also Treesheets is a nice simple conceptualization

The stock market is a way to publicly trade partial ownership of companies. The value of a stock is whatever people are willing to pay for it. That's based on speculation but at least somewhat anchored in the companies' revenues and profits/losses.

Sometimes it is but no the stock market is often very unanchored from any real sense of value and as a result all of the money involved becomes a part of something unreal that will catastrophically collapse at a later point.

Exhibit A) See Uber, it isn't even a business in any pure capitalist sense since it has never or almost never turned a profit.

No, the macro-economic function of the stock market is to determine the capitalist value of things, the stock market IS the hallucination at the center of the value of currencies like the US dollar.

You clearly believe in some magical power of rationality to the stock market like people believe in God, I can only debate you so far before your rhetorical defenses become purely emotional and based on feelings not facts.
