"Progressive" is born out of trying to rebrand. Whatever label you choose, the media will define it.
You have the media saying empathy is bad. You are never going to win against the media by policing labels, that is what they do. You win by staying on message about the issues and policies.
Putting aside assembly code gets compiled as well, the bottle neck is always validation of these systems. Making the systems more opaque makes the already difficult task of ensuring it works even harder.
