Person wearing door dash grandma shirt.... Supposedly drives up to the white house door, and Trump supposedly answerers..

Talk about a load of faked propaganda. There is like 500+staff members at the White House. And no way would the secret service let the president take packages from a random person without screening everything.

It was supposed to be a PR stunt about No Taxes on Tips, that's why the press was all hanging around to take pictures when the Door Dasher showed up.

Then Trump comes out and the press asks him about his blasphemous Easter post, and he offered his outlandish excuse that he was supposed to be a doctor, completely blowing his PR stunt.

He probably didn't even tip her, he's a proven scumbag cheapskate. Just the pleasure of serving him is tip enough.

offered his outlandish excuse that he was supposed to be a doctor

It'll be good enough for his base, who is willing to believe anything to rationalize his behavior.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 5 hours ago

That's what it is. It doesn't have to be a plausible story, just a story, something they can repeat with confidence, and just scream "TDR!" at anyone who tries to mock them.

She stated during the event she was there for a reason. Trump asked her for her opinion on trans folks in sports, and she said "I have no opinion on that. I'm here about taxes on tips." She was deadpan with it too

Yeah, this fuck invited her to the White House to thank him on live tv for the big beautiful bill removing the requirement to be taxed on tips because she drives DoorDash to pay for her husbands cancer treatment and he fucking snubbed her to talk about himself for 30 minutes and then she invited her and her husband to the UFC fight he’s holding at the whitehouse.

What a disaster for this poor woman and for this country. Our own personal Nero.

Yes, as I read the grandma door dasher shirt, I don't think they understand how that's nothing to be proud of. The nation has failed those people that should be enjoying retirement instead of gig work for the elite class as modern slaves until they drop. Didn't even know about the husband which makes it so much more tone deaf.

well, under normal circumstances... but wtf is even happening there anymore?

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 33 points 1 day ago (1 children)

right, all bets are off. Perhaps they're feeling overconfident from their warmongering, you know, buffed up, thus getting sloppy

[–] homes@piefed.world 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

well, due to Polymarket, all bets are ON... but only the privileged few know enough to make those bets.

otherwise.... enjoy the rollercoaster!

For enjoyment (not suicide) I recommend 2-3g of 20%+ cannabis and your favorite bourbon!
that's how I'm making it through my Monday!

I just had an interview at a dispensary. I hope I get the job, not only for cheaper weed, but also cause I need a fuckin job.

[–] mbp@slrpnk.net 3 points 16 hours ago

Good fuckin luck!

[–] moonshadow@slrpnk.net 4 points 19 hours ago

Befriend good customers and start (keep?) selling grey market on the side, only way to get paid as a weed barista

[–] homes@piefed.world 11 points 1 day ago

I'd totally take that job.

good luck!

Here's my thing.....if Polymarket is just being used to pay bets that are obvious scams, eventually (read: real fuckin quick) Polymarket would shut that shit down. The mob don't let cheaters into their casinos and win big every week. They break the guys thumbs, kneecaps, or maybe just off the guy.

So it makes me think that Polymarket isn't so much a legit betting rig, as it is a money washing service probably set up by trumps people. They pump the money into Polymarket behind the scenes, win big every week, and Polymarket funnels the money right back into their accounts. With a traceable paper trail to them free and clear from the IRS.

I have no proof of this. It just doesn't pass the smell test. Then again, trump in person probably smells awful too.

[–] homes@piefed.world 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It’s really not that simple

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2026/apr/11/polymarket-gamblers-betting-iran-war-ukraine-news-truth

Polymarket is an unregulated insider trading platform, primarily profiting from insider bets surrounding the Iran war originating from the unprecedentedly corrupt White House

Any attempt to defend it would inextricably link you to the unquestionably criminal corruption of the White House.

Do you have anything to say?

On the record?

[–] CuddlesMcBubblefun@lemmy.world 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

What I don't get is where does all the money they win come from? Somebody has to take the bets and lose right? Seems like an awful lot of money to just be fleecing random rubes.

[–] CannonFodder@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago

It's bribes / pay to play. People lose as a way to funnel funds without traceability.

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 20 points 23 hours ago

If it was that easy to get to trump, I assume someone would have door-dash'd him something lethal already.
