Random question, as Im guessing you are from the states.
How impossible is it actually in pratice to vote in other parties than Democrats and Republicans?
Asking because it seems like you got a hard time changing things, if theres no competition in politics.
Look up Al Gore vs George Bush Jr. in 2000. The lack of a preferential voting system meant that Bush won Florida (and thus the election as a whole) because votes were split on Gore and a left-leaning independent, leaving Bush with the most votes (despite all the greens voters almost certainly wanting Gore over Bush).
