Palmer Luckey of Anduril is teaming with Ben Lamm of Colossal Biosciences to launch Warhound, a startup dedicated to genetically engineering and cloning dogs for service in war, police work and first responder work.

Speaking to Wired, Lamm explained that the project was twofold. One part of the project would oversee the genetic engineering and cloning of the ideal dogs for war, and the other would develop tech for them to use on battlefields.

We already have that. Marines. They're called Devil dogs. While half joking; the cocktails of injections--some completely experimental, kinda makes you wonder.

Yeah but they call themselves that.

No one else calls them that. It's like a dude at a frat party trying to invent his own nickname. He keeps introducing himself as Cobra or Maverick or some shit and everyone just rolls their eyes and says "sure thing Steve whatever you say."

I know bro, it was a joke. Not the injection part though. Though that did give me a giggle. I'm a GI Joe.

Well, ackshually, it was zee Germans who first called them that.

But yea, USMC does have a lot of masturbatory lore

It was an American propagandist claiming the Germans called them that, there is no record and no primary source account of any such term being used by the Germans to describe American Marines.
