He wanted an opportunity to steal all that personal data from the US government. And he wanted to kill all the investigations into his businesses. And he wanted more exclusive government contracts. And he wanted to be able to spy on the US to sell that data to whoever would pay. Elon is a criminal, not a genius.

'Yeah I have no idea whose hand that is stuck up my asshole and operating me like a sock-puppet. whistles innocently'

There is no world where Elon Musk is the, THE secret evil genius behind it all! The cuck is 8bit!

Don't make this out like it's some brilliant plan only a mustache-twirling villain could pull off; buying politicians is what oligarchs do, Musk just netted himself a bigger fish than most. He saw a rare opportunity to dribble some money on the king of all grifter politicians who is only interested in enriching himself and inflating his ego to get the things he wanted. But it's not clever or brilliant or genius, buying politicians is in fact rather pedestrian these days.

That's the problem with all these rich, weak, and narcissistic men in powerful positions that are currently dismantling everything. They are all using each other for their own goals. Fortunately for them they all have similar goals in mind for now. If Dear Leader kicks the bucket due to health issues, which is very likely, it's gonna be an absolute shit show while they all scramble to take all the power for themselves. There's no way in hell they all agree with the couch fucker taking the office next.

The power vacuum that Trump's passing will create is going to be quite a sight to see.

[–] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 4 points 7 hours ago

It’s all a house of cards, so it may all come crashing down. A few have tried and failed to harness MAGA support. Ron DeSantis being the biggest crash and burn.

If you look at billionaires pet projects you can guess who wants to swoop in and privatize what industry. Anyone else gotten Amazon Doctor ads other than me?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 79 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

He was using you, just like everyone else you surround yourself with you orange fucking rube.

[–] p03locke@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

He already knows this, but of course, like everything else out of his mouth, he can't help but lie. There is no "saying the quiet part out loud", because 100% of what he says is a lie.

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 7 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Regardless of he knows or not, what openly says just makes him look like an idiot.

if it looks like a duck...

He supported Donald Trump for the same reason that most Trump-supporters do: they HATE HATE HATE the same people that Trump does.

[–] Cocodapuf@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

I think it's simultaneously simpler and more complex than that.

I think most of these people just want money and power and they don't care who has to suffer or who they have to oppress to get there.

So you see, it's not hate specifically, it's indifference to humanity and morality. It's the pursuit of personal gain without a conscience.

Their motivation is still evil, but I don't think it's hate specifically, that's just a tool in their belt.

[–] FearMeAndDecay@literature.cafe 6 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Oh come on, don’t forget about all the deregulation Trump helped him do! Think about how much more money the rat got!

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

The richest man on earth subverted democracy solely to make himself wealthier and more powerful. Like, when are people gonna accept that this level of greed and narcissism is a deeply destructive mental illness?

[–] Crankenstein@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Please stop falling for the culture war stuff and pay attention to the bigger picture.

He gained access to a trove of government data that he Starlinked back to his lair. He got more government military contracts and he got the FCC to revisit a bunch of hardline fiber broadband that will now end up going to Starlink or T-Mobile home broadband, as T-Mobile seems to be pretty ingrained in his money camp. Why give America fiber when you can deploy wireless affected by all sorts of extra physics problems? He also likely got a pass to keep poisoning communities with his AI datacenter running on a fleet of unfiltered backup generators.

He wanted money and access, and to feel special, like all of their types do.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 25 points 18 hours ago

Yes you do, Donald.

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 10 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Because Trump is a fascist and Musk is a fascist. Does he not see how simple it is?

[–] Kickforce@lemmy.wtf 11 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Musk himself said that if Harris won he was going to be in very big trouble. It's safe to say he supported Trump because that was not the law and order candidate.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

referring to those voting machines he tampered with specifically.

[–] Kickforce@lemmy.wtf 2 points 7 hours ago

Yes? Might also have been all the other investigations running against him that doge accidentally snuffed out.

[–] theUwUhugger@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

I would disagree! Trump never even pretended to care national unity, his economical policy is not that of state consolidation and he is not constricting a social hierarchy! And Elon is just a shill, all he cares about is the money he can suckle off the government tets

I think evil would fit better, cartoonishly so

He didn’t want Trump to kill EVs, but Elon is a narcissist and batshit and doesn’t know how to walk a fine line. He has to dominate and that’s what he tried to do. Probably could’ve been more successful if he just acted like a loyal supporter to Trump and ran his business.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

biggest mistake of a drug addled musk is competing with another narcissist.

[–] MolecularCactus1324@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

I think Musks playbook is to be the excited investor at first who gets involved with the company. Later, he bullies the founders out and takes it over. That obviously can’t work for the presidency.
