If she doesn't disavow the DSA then how will she get the like 3 centrists left in the entire state of FL who haven't decided yet if they want to vote R or D?

TBH, I thought we were past the point of caring about fucking snake emojis, controversial opinions on history, or whatever woke bullshit someone said in 2014.

People can't fucking eat, pay rent, cool their homes, or afford education in this country. Every DSA candidate needs to watch how Zohran responded to these stupid culture war questions and take notes. Affordability is how the DSA's win, not by indulging centrist bullshit or the mainstream media's baiting about old, stupid woke opinions.

If they ask her about Castro, her response should be: "I'm not concerned with history. I'm concerned with the fact that Republicans have made it impossible to live with a full-time job in Florida." Hong would have won if, instead of talking about her stupid Thanksgiving tweet or her half-white son, she'd have simply said: "My concern with my son is the fact that Republicans have made it so hard to afford groceries every week, and they want to spend our tax dollars on unwanted data centers. I'd like for people to be able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner to begin with."

Full stop. Every goddamn time. Stay on message about affordability.

But that doesn't make Demagogues money.
So long as we stay an out-group from their exploits, they’ll continue these theatrics.

From Nikki Fried's Wikipedia page

After graduating, Fried worked at the law firm of Holland & Knight in Jacksonville, alongside Ashley Moody, a friend of Fried from the University of Florida who would later serve alongside her as the Florida Attorney General.

But since winning, she(Nixon) moved fast to distance herself from several DSA positions, saying she doesn't back abolishing all prisons — just for-profit ones, she doesn't support "defunding" police or having so-called "open borders," and she disagreed with the national DSA's controversial commemoration of Fidel Castro.

Nixon's distancing seems very rational to me. I think don't this movement needs to have a mandate to magically get rid of all prisons and cops. Seriously, when's that going to happen? Not any time soon. Praise Castro? That guy that created a utopia in Cuba lol? That'll be so fucking popular lol. Seems like dipshits(or childishly naive people) or Republican saboteurs are running this party(which I've heard of for the first time today).

I really hope people don't support this party and make them the stupid face of Democratic Socialism.

edit: fucking downvoted. lol, good luck guys. i'm sure things will go as you want, what ever the fuck that is

Which party?

The DSA i just heard of. If this article is saying anything true, then the DSA is making huge mistakes associating itself with Castro and then it's other big agendas are eliminating police and getting rid of public prisons(imo, everyone involved with private prisons should be sentenced to death. It's almost as bad as a capitalist health care system).

Getting rid of cops and standard prisons are a pie in the sky option right now. I get that it's a good goal as long as we create a more humane system but a fledgling party can't expect to push that and expect that people aren't going to push back. Thanks for listening.

If you didn't read the article to the end, I'd recommend that you do. It's interesting.

To me, it's stupid.

She shouldn't even be answering questions about prisons or Castro. She should be answering any culture war question the way Zohran did, because every DSA candidate is going to have whatever dumb shit they said in 2014 dragged up and examined, as the billionaires who own the media outlets don't want anyone talking about affordability.

DSA's have the playbook. They just need to run the play. Republicans have made it laughably easy to win in November.

Have my upvote though, for at least giving a genuine opinion. You and I at least agree that a candidate letting themselves be forced into discussing culture war nonsense is stupid.

I hope I agree with you. You actually responded without immediately downvoting and I respect that.

I guess I've always had my own interpretation of what a social democrat is. Means of productions and all that shit is just an old, failed philosophy. I want the best of both worlds. Private companies can compete but we actually have strong government regulations to keep all the pieces of shit under control...with military backing. Like, if you're corrupt, you're considered a traitor. I know how much would need to be fleshed out but I'm just giving the general idea of what I think.

The only other thing besides the obvious stuff is that the obvious utilities are government controlled. Energy, internet, insurance, healthcare, housing, etc..

But if we go with standard textbook socialism that a dumbass failure like Castro implemented, this movement WILL fail whether or not if the DNC establishment candidates and Repubs made it easy or not.
